Kabbalah is an undramatic tradition that requires great patience and stability. One of the reasons for this tempo is that everyone has to mature his potential gradually and thoroughly at his natural pace. In this way his life's work unfolds at the right moment in his own and the cosmos's time.

It depends on where the camera's been placed; a lot of times in retail locations they'll either be behind a reflective panel in the ceiling or the LP guys have had to bore a hole in the foam panels of the drop ceiling - usually in a corner of the tile - to let the camera look down. The worse of your LP folks will butcher the job and wind up using white-out to paint around the lens of the camera to at least make that part blend in with the tile, with the lens itself resembling one of the little black holes typical of that type of tile; the better of the LP folk will make an almost completely un-noticeable hole for the camera to peek through.

If you're talking about retail locations, keep in mind that per law no LP/AP division can place cameras in a fitting/dressing room or a bathroom. Not that it doesn't happen, but legally they cannot do it and any evidence gleaned from such a placed camera is completely inadmissable. But out on the sales floor, the registers, customer service, cash office, manager's office(s), receiving area and stockrooms, anything goes. A lot of places are also installing motion detectors to monitor for, of course, movement - some of these systems are tied into cameras so that the detector will trigger the camera to start recording. Also on some of the digital systems it is possible to set up a defined area within a camera's view where if motion is detected the digital system will record that camera's view for a while.

Keep in mind that if you enter a store where you know or suspect that there is an LP/AP unit and you start looking at all the cameras and their placements, they're going to watch you right back since that's the most prevalent indicator of a person intent on deviant activity (shoplifting, fraudulent refunds, using stolen check/credit card, etc). The best advice I can give is to use LP's own tactics against them; wear a ballcap and peek out from under the brim to see where the cameras are. It's a tactic that LP will use during on-the-sales-floor surveillance of an individual as it allows you to covertly watch what their hands are doing without them being able to see your eyes.

What else would you like to know?

Oh and if you are really serious about knowing where cameras are you can do it but its not cheap. $550 for the kit shown.

There are hidden camera detectors that range from $50 to $100. Although this thread is really old. If anyone does want a link, just reply...they market them for women who want to know if they are being watched in the bathroom and of course to overly paranoid people.

The surveillance equipment shown in the link included a wireless camera detector (which the pinhole camera may not be in a retail environment, as it will require the batteries to be changed - the wireless cameras are more likely for short term surveillance jobs) and a light emitter that reflects from the hidden camera lens.
of course, walking around the store with the light emitter is impractical and will just draw attention to you. If on the other hand you are in a store after closing and wish to find a camera, the light emitter may work but it would be more practical to locate the manager's office or security room and gain access to the camera's recorders / vcr / dvr's , erase or destroy the tapes etc. However, if you are in a store after hours, it is best just to conceal oneself with a mask or disguise, collect your goods . . . er, intelligence and leave. if you have the time or access, you could check above the false ceiling and locate the wires that lead to the camera.
As far as searching for a camera discretely, you can utilize some concealed search techniques such as . .
1. The Eyeglasses Cleaning: you hold your eyeglasses up to the light of the ceiling and pretend to clean off the lenses while you visually search for the camera.
2. The Eye Drop Scan: you hold a bottle of eyedrop solution and pretend to put drops in your eyes while you scan the ceiling.
however, these are really only practical for a few moments of searching. you won't find the pin hole camera.
Lastly, you can use IR L.E.D. emitters hidden inside of a ballcap or sunglasses that send out invisible light that prevents the camera from identifying you. the camera only sees your body and a bunch of white light at your face.

The wireless cameras transmit a signal. When you hold a speaker up to your cell phone while it is transmitting the speaker begins to click.

Depends entirely on the camera, how it is placed, ambient light levels, and how many, brightness level and direction of your IR LEDs. No way to tell if this is working or not until they nail your butt for walking around with a halo. I wouldn't risk this technique for a real UE as it shows serious premeditation. Best left to the tinfoil hat dweebs that post this junk to Makezine.
