Let's share some gardening experiences!

Whats your smallest crop?
Biggest?
Most obviously placed?
Most hidden?
Terrible disasters?
Pests?

I'll kick it off with a delightful yarn of my first/smallest yield.

My smallest crop was (obviously) my first one. I grew it with 2 150w incandescent gro-lites (i was 14 and knew nothing of the art) in the closet in my bedroom at my parents house. I grew one plant to a staggeringly spindly height of about 40in before flowering lol!

Flowering went ok, took about 9 weeks and another 12in to complete flowering, but man were those buds fluffy and airy. This was before i learned of MH, HPS, and Merc.Vap. lights, and the wonderful results they yield.

All in all it was an absolutely positive learning experience, and, despite the ineptness of the grower, the genetics came shining through (as much as possible) and I actually had almost an ounce of really decent herb.

Leo1: You cant just wander around Gary going into old buildings! Theres plenty of crackheads that will bust you in the mouth for that camera, then run a train your ladyfriends.
Me: I like Gary, I think its nice, aside from the lack of eats on a Sunday afternoon.
Leo2: Yeah, its really nice...until we find three dead strangers in an...abandoned...thing.

Cool

I'm still working on stealing/prying the atm card back, then withdrawing money to pay my friend for a shitload of good seeds, or maybe I'll order online. The site is great, the problem is keeping deer out. I don't have funds for fencing. I've heard peeing in the vicinity can scare deer away though, any comments on that?

Ehhh sorry I'm kind of drunk

actually, it sounds kinda gross...but if you down to your local Ace hardware (or other reasonably acceptable store) they should have bottled fox/wolf urine concentrate. just spray that at the recommended intervals and on the base of any trees that might form a rough perimeter, and most mammalian pests will give your garden a wide berth.

I'll start in with my personal disaster story. This year, I was growing my standard two plants, and the more mature of the two was less than a week from harvest, Nice, big fats plant covered with red-haired buds, and just begging me to partake. As usual in the final few weeks, I moved them inside my house. I left town for one day to hit the lake with my then girlfriend, now wife. While we were at the lake, my parents called and said that there had been a break-in at my place, reported by my neighbor, and that they had given the cops permission to enter because there might still be one suspect inside. I was crapping peach pits at what they might find, but all was well.

The damn thieves stole a bunch of small shit such as Zippo lighter collectables, etc., AND BOTH MY PLANTS! Bastards!

Needless to say, I was crushed. So much love and concern into every grow, and then .........denied!

I have changed my personal exploring ethics code. From now on it will be: "Take only aimed shots, leave only hobo corpses." Copper scrappers, meth heads and homeless beware. The Jonsered cometh among you, bringing fear and dread.

Yeah that certainly sucks royally. I got a whole bunch of thorn-bush seeds over the summer; hopefully if I plant those in the general vicinity (not too close or they'll compete with the pot) of the plants it'll help to hide them.

At least they didn't leave the plants behind to be found by the cops.
