Just curious about anyone's plans for their cars, or any new projects for 2007?
Currently on my agenda:

Finish the restoration of my '72 Beetle, and start the restoration of my '72 BMW 2002, and the JDM Paseo driveline swap into my Tercel, as well as the body kit.

Lift my Blazer with either a 4" block in the place of my stock 2" block in the rear of my truck, or new springs/AALs, fix an exhaust leak and maybe install headers while I do it, heated O2 sensor, do some mods to my TBI like a spacer and adj. pressure regulator, Hella driving lights, maybe a few other things.

I may sand and paint my stock grille body color with a billet insert or put a whole new grille shell in, if I have the money a cowl induction hood...blah blah...

I'd really like to fix my Suburban that got stolen last year, it needs a new nose [well, a hood, fender and core support] and steering column. And I have to get going on my Impala too. Those are my primary objectives really...

Dude, just find a well preserved 89-90 Caprice Classic. TBI so they are pretty reliable, and the rest is vintage 1977 (well, 1980) styling.

I might get one, or take my little brothers 89 when he gets a new car (got one as a stepping stone since his GP got totalled by a drunk guy), I'd want to get a Brougham LS with Corvette Rallys, or maybe some cheap MCSS alloys from the 80s, stiffened up or factory F41 suspension, and some performance add-ons to make a sleeper.

I'd like to find another 71-76, but I already have this one. There's actually a 76 2 door in my town for 2500 bucks that's in really nice shape, first one I've seen in a while too.

  • Get a license
  • Learn how to swap a manual transmission into a 1996 Volvo 850 (currently has an auto on its way out).
  • hopefully put a turbo on it
  • new gauge cluster
  • new stereo and/or new speakers
  • fix dash
  • find money to finance this project
  • maybe more

I'll be getting my '67 SAAB 96 2-stroke to a local body shop to have it sanded flat and repainted, then swap out the dashboard with another one i have that has a good dashpad (the one in the car is dried and cracked). Come summertime she'll be ready for classic rallies and local car shows.

On the events side, I'm goin to the North American International Auto Show this weekend (Jan. 20th) with my friend (UER handle= FernaldSpecter) and bro-in-law. Should be fun as hell! Then this summer me and FernaldSpecter will be attending the Formula One United States Grand Prix at Indianapolis (me for the 2nd time, and his first time) which I can't wait for.

Should be a good year!

P.S. If anyone is gonna be at NAIAS this saturday too, say hi to the 2 kids with Mild Seven Renault F1 Team hats on! lol

small, and not a great pic, but this is Helena (Swedish name, and a good song) before I brought her home form the last owner. Took delivery last April. She's my 2nd blue '67 SAAB. The first one had far too much rust to be fixable, so I gutted all of the parts and bought the car you see here. The engine came from my first car, among a couple other parts I replaced. You can't really see the door too well, but it almost looks like an old Corvette: it's got a huge "cove" painted a darker blue with bondo underneath. Apparently she's been tweaked in the side before... No unibody damage save for the floorpan's driver side tunnel having a wavy outer layer. Everything is straight, perfectly aligned and solid. Now I need a paintjob, the dashpad, and maybe rebuilt the clutch slave cylinder that leaks a bit. God I love that car!

Well, that's the precise reason I love it so much!!! And ya know, next time I'll up it to the next level. I'd like my next project to be a decent Citroen DS21 or ID21...

I'm first gonna do some body work on my truck, get it lookin nice, then sell it.

I plan on buying a diesel shortbus from my local bus garage this summer and getting it running on veggie oil, with a deck on the roof and all that good shit. Completely RV it out. Alot of travel in the future.

I'd also love to get my motorcycle workin this summer, or maybe I'll just buy an enduro.

<reuben> somebody keeps jiggling the doorknob on my front door, then running away
<reuben> i don't know if i should call the police, or hook up some electricity to the doorknob
<cristobal> why don't you put ice on the stairs <cristobal> and heat up the door knob <cristobal> and swing paint buckets down from your two story foyer <cristobal> then a few years later, fade from the public eye.....

I'm definitely going to finally get my bike together. I've been working on swapping '02 TL1000R running gear onto my '85 Katana for a year and a half now. The main holdup has been bending some rectangular aluminum tubing for the new swingarm. Should have that sorted in a couple weeks. Then I'll get my brother in Chicago that works for AMS Performance ( http://www.amsperformance.com/ )to weld it up. All that'll be left then is to get some custom offset sprockets cut. I'd like to do some engine work to it too, but I think I'll just put in the Wiseco big bore kit for now.

Katana rendering:

I'd really like to get back to work on my '77 Caprice project, but doubt that'll happen. More than likely, I'll be helping my brother on his turbo Trailblazer engine'd '54 Chevy whenever I'm around. Check it out: http://www.ludicrouslouis.com/index.php
