Awesome speeds from 5/2 to 50/5 for rock bottom prices. Sounds great! Where do I sign up? Oh wait. My mistake. It's going everywhere BUT Denver. Assholes.

FIOS isn't available in my town. If I lived 12 miles away in Harrisburg I'd be able to subscribe to it.

I worked for Comcast in the Retention Dept & when FIOS started in the new market areas we lost a ton of customers. I would give my customers one month free of high speed internet & ask them to compare internet services. Needless to say, I NEVER heard any complaints or any negative words about FIOS! I watched the accounts to see if the customers called back to cancel service with Comcast & they always did. How can you blame them, faster upload & download speeds @ 1/2 the cost!

I can't get FIOS soon enough!

we got fios and love it. the only problem we had was the initial contractor they sent to install did a shitty job. i complained and they sent another contractor who was really professional and helpful. he was disgusted when he saw the first guy's work and fixed everything right up. no problems since.

Mmmmmmmmm Fios baby! I've had it for a over year now. Was down only once. Very reliable and I've had much less trouble with malware. TV is now available too here.

Jeeeesze SC, Denver is a shit hole town! But we knew that

heh, considering that we used to be the tv/cable capital of the world, we are certainly lagging behind. if only verizon knew how many unhappy comcast and qwest customers that would drop their service in a heartbeat for fios, we'd have been the first to get fios.

That's the problem; there's unhappy Comcast customers everywhere.

Yeah, thats all well and good, but how many users will it take before the service becomes more expensive and slows down a lot? Its not available in my area, but I feel a little cheated in the first place. My current service provider just announced 40% increase in speed, chea where, the owners house? My speed has actually decreased more then 1Mbps, what a jip. Second europeans have had faster net then us for years. Most people there, already have 10Mbps or more. Not too sound greedy, but us americans are all getting screwed.

FiOS isn't like broadband. Your broadband cable line connects to a fiber line that has serviced your local switching station for years probably. Verizon is just stepping in and putting a smaller fiber line between your house and the switching station. They have limiters and everything to make sure that you get pretty damn close to what you pay for. Or at least thats what they claim, plus, I have yet to find a negative review of the service. The prices are going to start going down in no more than 5 years (2012), which isn't bad considering cable was 100$ plus when it was first out. But yet, comcast and qwest aren't even planning something like this, which is a shame considering they are probably better equipped for a project like FiOS. But seriously, the performance per dollar is much better than any cable service.

But yeah, the east coast and the europeans are pampered wayyy too much.
