I find it quite useful for running X-country, its practically fucking weightless, plus it has a clip so you don't drop it. Besides, why bother with a screen, most people don't look at the screen when they are listening to their music. Having a screen is really only useful for the iPod video. To each their own. I just wish it came in black.

I personally like to choose what I'm listening to, and that's hard without an interface.

Last time I checked, iTunes was an interface. Just load up what you want to listen to and hit sync. Besides, the shuffle is just one of the many available iPods. That's why they have a few different type because granted, the shuffle/video/or nano isn't for everyone.

By interface, I mean an interface connected to the mp3 player so you can conveniently move from song to song/artist to artist/etc. I just don't think it's generally the best on the market for its price.
