Wait - so if I'm merging onto the freeway and my onramp lane is ending soon, I have to come to a complete stop because some dicksnap doesn't let me merge? It is the driver in the right-most through lane who is responsible for allowing room for onramp traffic to merge onto the freeway. Otherwise, it's pure douchebaggery.

that's what fenders and bumpers are for... you WILL move.

I was employed as a driver for a couple of years and driving a 15 passenger chevy van with government plates was like having a license to kill.

And, lastly, if you are coming up to an interchange, it's required that you shove over to the left lane if traffic is trying to merge on to the highway. If that's not possible, get by the ramp as quick as you can... one of the few redeeming qualities that New Jersey has is the fact that you can be ticketed for IMPEEDING traffic... ie if traffic is moving at 80mph on the turnpike and you're doing 55... not only are you being a douchebag, but you're also causing problems that could kill someone.

No, government speed limits are the dumbest thing you've ever heard of. My car can go 140 miles an hour. The government says it can only go 65.... wtf. They must be high...

It's possible to get a ticket for going to slow anywhere in the country. It's dangerous and stupid. I believe the correct term is called "impeding the flow of traffic"

Women drivers. It is rare that I see a women driving who is NOT on the cellphone, doing makeup, fixing her hair, reaching in the backseat, talking with her hands off the wheel. I'm not sexist, but if the majority of (mostly middle aged) women cannot handle driving, they shouldn't even try it. Most women don't even know how in the hell a car works (That should be on the drivers test). There should also be a "drivers aptitude test" which you should have to take every 5 or 10 years to get your license renewed (for men and women. Yes, there are some terrible male drivers out there as well, just not as many and not as bad).

Amen, brother!

But if the speed limit is 65 and everyone is going 80+, then they got you both ways. If you go 80, you can get a ticket for speeding. If you go 65(the speed limit), you get a ticket for "impeding the flow". They screw you coming and going, that is bullshit.

BUT... 9 times out of 10, if you are going 80+ in a crowd, there is no issue.
I used to run between northern New York and Rockville, Maryland every weekend. I was getting so good, I could do it in about 5 hours.

Why do we have cops monitoring speed in the first place? My friend's nephew was stabbed to death one day, when probably half of the nations cops were setting up speed traps. Statistics, yes, statistics, show that eliminating the speed limit reduces fatal accidents because people are on the road less. Statistics also show that those on their phones have 45% motor skills that someone not on the phone and on average drive 2 miles an hour slower which added up can add up to hours a year you spend on your commute.

On my commute yesterday on the freeway, all the cars around me slowed down to 90kmph (the limit is 100kmph). I then noticed why they slowed down - an OPP car was cruising along in the center of three lanes. I looked at my speedometer and I was at just under 105kmph. So I passed the cop, and zoomed up to 115kmph. They didn't chase after me and I kept on going on my merry way. The other drivers, however, were piddling along at 90kmph behind the OPP. Jeeeeeeeeezus!
