Well, it's kind of true, isn't it? I mean, the only significant Black that school kids are taught about is Martin Luther King.

Whites have the vast majority of historical figures. President's day is pretty much a white history day, at least until we have a black president (Go Obama).

Frederick Douglass, W.E.B. DuBois, Rosa Parks, and Langston Hughes -- I'd say they deserve at least one month out of the year, wouldn't you? Most school kids know about Christopher Columbus and George Washington and Abe Lincoln, but they can't bring up a list of a good half dozen black leaders.

HA HA. None taken. I didn't mean to insinuate that X-columbus is an American. In fact, I don't think any Nation should be responsible for claiming the guy.

Read the first chapter of People's History, and you'll see what kind of guy Columbus really was.

I'd much rather learn about Langston Hughes than that prick, Columbus.

	Martin Luther King is overrated . . . he ordered the police on his own people when they got too rowdy for his tastes, and LARGE portions of his speeches were plagiarized. His college dissertation was 40% copied, though when the university discovered this they refused to take away his doctorate. I'm not against black rights or nothin' . . . Harriet Tubman, Franklin Douglas, Malcolm X, they're all great; just not MLK as much.
