300, a Frank Miller story, directed with the same flare as Sin City by Dawn Of The Dead re-makist Zach Snyder.

It's gorier than Gladiator but it's a stylized and artistic violence. No A-list stars but it was still compelling. No real plot or character development, but then this isn't that kind of movie. All in all I was entertained as were the others in the theatre...

You seen it yet??

i know the film is basically a testosterone flick with men beating their chests and screaming every line of dialogue...but it grew tiresome and i thought it was just an overblown and overhyped film from beginning to end.

For someone like me, who is both a history buff, and a lover of high-body-count action movies, the movie was wonderful. Strong warriors fighting for FREEDOM!
Outstanding special effects, great bad guys (the "Uber Immortal dude, holy shit). The omission of the fact that the whole Spartan world existed through the benefit of slave holding, which allowed the Spartans to train, and train, and train, didn't bother me at all. The battle details fairly true to the actual event, in particular the bottleneck at the pass.....and that's the kind of history that has kept me from reading fiction for years.
For a comic version see "Meet the Spartans"..hilarious.

I liked the part with the dancing oracle.

I liked the part with the dancing oracle.

Nice scene, the actress was photographed underwater, which accounts for the ethereal feeling of the scene.

I also enjoyed the active role played by the Spartan women. When Xerxes tells Leonidas what will happen to the Spartan women after he's defeated the Spartans, Leonidas replies:

"Clearly, you don't know our women".

I don't think anyone needs to worry about Xerxes raping a woman
