Anyone use these, or know anything about them?? got a few from work, and am wondering what to do with them.

I used to be with it, but then they changed what it was. Now what I'm with isn't it, and what's it seems weird and scary to me, and it'll happen to you, too!

Yeah, sorry to say they won't play on amateur bands. What are you looking to get for them? I'd gladly take them off your hands!

The spectra is a nice radio, I've always loved that specific series of radios from Motorola...

I agree. Spectra is a very solid radio, and i'm planning to put an A7 VHF model in my explorer.

Not gonna happen on my current budget. If I had my way it would be a W3 in each band.

Get the XTL5000 and an O3 head... then you can have multiple radios on the same head

Astro gear really isn't as expensive these days as it used to be. Back in the day you'd be lucky to find an Astro anything for under $2000. These days, you'd be hard pressed to find one that costs MORE than $1000.

I have my VHF XTS5000R Model II, so I think i'm set for Astro gear, unless an XTS4000 pops up at a price I can't refuse.

1600 bucks takes one home my friend. Very nice radios. They are the same guts as the 5k just in a different package. You need q52 in your radio!
