Brought Poppy into the vet's this morning to get spayed. Funny but I was worried about her. I know that's crazy since this is a routine operation being done on a young healthy dog.

Shutterbug and I then went out. We had errands to take care of and happy to say, when we got back, I called the vet and was informed that all went well and we will be able to pick her up tomorrow.

Still, the house is too damned quiet.

Yeah. We are lucky. She's doing very well too. Anyway, a few last minute preps (we got her a new bed yesterday and are cleaning up) and we're going over to pick her up. In fact, I'm signing off now to go!

Thanks.

We're back. Poppy's home and what surprised me is that she is fairly rambunctious. I thought we would be carrying her to the car or that she at least would be walking very slowly. Nope! She's calm now (had her peanut butter) and is settling down on her new bed.

We're just watching her to ensure she doesn't lick at her wound. If that happens, she'll be wearing a cone.

I heard those cones were called Elizabethan Collars.

They are. When my sister's dog broke his leg, it was a constant battle on how to keep that stupid thing on.

True there. My brother's dog needed one and she was not a happy camper. To date, Poppy hasn't needed one and with her incision healed nicely, she's doing pretty good. One small problem though is that there's a slight swelling at one end of it. She's going in to the Vet's on Saturday to get it checked. To date, no discharge and no apparent pain noticed. <whew!>

No problem there.

Been there, done that myself.
