I listed a Toyota Camry on Ebay with a seized motor(local pick up only, I'm in WI) Some fucktard scammer from the UK uses "buy it now" and bought it for $700. WTF??!!! Local pick up only, he's in the UK!!! Anyway, what they wanted me to do is give them my contact info so they could send a cashiers check(also a listed form of payment I don't accept) and then have me ship them the car. So basically what would happen is the check would clear, I'd send the car, then a few weeks later the check would be discovered as a fraud and I'd be out the car and money. Idiots!! Luckily I knew better and did nothing.

Ebay refunded my "final value fee" but will still charge me a listing fee of $41.90. If I relist the item and it sells I only have to pay the first listing fee....if I relist it and it doesn't sell I owe the $41.90 plus the new relisting fee of $46.90.... so basically if it doesn't sell I owe ebay close to $90 for nothing but a headache. Of course the idiot that "bought" my car is not held responsible for covering the fees since they cancelled their account. People are swine.

I had something happen like that, only with Paypal and my bank.

My parents bought tupperware for $30 and charged it to Paypal. Our Paypal account was set up with my dad's credit, but also tied to my bank account. For whatever reason, Paypal tried to use money from my bank account first (instead of going to the credit card). Of course, I didn't have the money and was charged a $35 NSF fee from my bank. Couple days later, we're wondering why the payment hasn't gone through and I check my balance again and behold, another $35 NSF fee. In Paypal's infinite wisdom, it then decided to charge my dad's credit card.

In the end, my parents' $30 tupperware ended up costing three times that amount.

My car was listed on the internet until last week,and I heard from no less than nine scammers who tried the cashier check scam.

I'd advise listing it for free,then you can't lose out on money.May have to deal with more bullshit,but you'll be onto them right away.
