well, took the Cobalt SS/SC to the dragstrip yesterday, just to get a baseline on what the car can and can't do. Off the line, the car did pretty much what I knew it was going to do... Spin spin spin through 1st and into 2nd. Middle of 2nd and into 3rd really pulled the car out to a high trap speed at the end despite the shitty time. I got 4 good runs in and then got the clutch uber hot and had it slip bad on the final run. At that point, I called it a day.
So... by the numbers:
First Run: Car #: 587 Reaction: .138 I1: 2.587 (60ft) I2: .000 I3: 10.321 (1/8th mile) I4: .000
Fifth and Final Death Run (Clutch overheated and started slipping BAD) Reaction: .353 I1: 2.954 I2: .000 I3: 13.047 I4: .000
ET: 20.558 @ 57.058
So, now I know where to start. Before anything, I have to upgrade to a Competition Clutch before I can do ANYTHING to the engine. Right now, the clutch and tires are the weak link. The engine has way more power than I've tapped... I want more.

Had the Tercel out at Shannonville Raceway last night... what a blast!!!!
I'm actually racing there thursday night (1.5 mile road course), I'll post some times!
Samurai: Not bad at all on the stock clutch and everything. There's a local guy who drags a Cobalt SS, and you're beating him by a few seconds. I've noticed he seems to bounce off the rev limiter when he shifts, which CAN'T be good for acceleration.
