What is with people on the interstate!! I have to drive over 500 miles a week back and forth to school on I-40 through the Smoky Mountains, and there is always several idiots raising my blood pressure. But yesterday just took the cake. Why is that when there is a wreck and traffic backs up, there has to be one fool that thinks it is his responsibility to be "road monitor"? I am talking about straddling the middle line in order to keep people from continuing up the road. Yeah, ok....traffic does need to merge in to one lane....2 miles up the freaking road!!!!! What makes them think they have the right to do this??!! Yesterday the fourth car in front of me, behind this dolt, after honking his horn forever, finally got out of his car and told said dolt to get over!! Kudos to him!! And yes, about 2 miles down the road, there were signs to merge over. Jeez!!

I keep some 14 foot 2x12's in my car just so I can block traffic like this.

In Ontario, we don't have "interstates" (ie: no states up here) but we do have the wonderful 400-series of freeways. Despite only being found in the lower quarter of the whole province, 400-series freeways are highest of quality among all Ontario highways, in terms of technology and design. And despite all that, there was a new report done that just concluded that the most dangerous stretch of highway in Ontario on 400-series highways is Highway 401 between Pickering and Clarington, the route I drive constantly. Yeah, gotta love that.

The reason people think they have the "right" to do this is because if everybody would merge in a timely manner (that is to say, BEFORE you get to the god damn end of the closed lane), traffic would move much less slowly for everybody because the people at the lane-closing point wouldn't have to come to a complete stop to let each other in without getting in accidents.

We are getting screwed up here on prices, if our dollar is hovering around and over the US dollar, why are we still paying so much more?

Travelling to the US for retail....

I hate people in the left lane. The left lane is for overtaking only. If I want to overtake the entire freeway at 85 miles an hour to get to work on time, that's my choice, it's not your job to play johnny law and sit in that lane. It is not an overflow lane if traffic gets bad.

I noticed they're adding an extra lane on Hwy 401 east of Port Hope. Not sure how far they'll go to (probably just Cobourg) but it's an improvement at least. It'll be three lanes in each direction.

You should see Durham Hwy 4 aka Taunton Rd in Ajax/Whitby. They've been attempting to add a new lane in each direction making it two lanes in each direction for almost a year now. Apparently Durham awarded the contract to a fucktard.

Its Oregon state law actually that on-coming traffic from entering ramps have right-of-way. I know thats backwards to most states and provinces but it seems to work.

Fedge: 400-Series highways actually would meet US Interstate Highway Specifications if you guys use asphalt as a wearing surface.
