okay lets get this board moving!~

whats the best house/business/factory/tunnel you've been to in the area? (in the area doesn't have to be just peterborough, but any town surrounding or rural place can be counted seeing as peterborough sucks for places!)

i'll go first!

the fowlers corners house == Mint.

Best place I've explored wasn't actually abandoned; I did the Public School in Hampton (North of Bowmanville) a while ago. xD That was freakishly fun.

My favourite house because I feel the most comfortable there is this one Abandoned House on Bethesda Road (also North of Bowmanville) across the road from my Best Friend's house. We sit on its roof a lot during the summer -- the two storey elevation usually gets us up to where there's a nice breeze. It's also been the site of a couple of rather freaky incidents; just adds to the charm of the house, in retrospect. At the time they weren't fun at all. ^^;

With a group of people i would have to say the St. John's convent in Toronto
Interesting place but i found the dormitories a little repetitive

Fedge and i happened upon a house in Colborne that had lots of old furniture, televisions, and appliances. We found out later that Atomx had previously explored the house and comparing the pics he had taken to our later ones proved the house to be undisturbed, unlike ourselves

Here is a link to a slide show of pics from the Colborne house

And of course i have explored many places by myself and was most impressed with the Red brick farm house near Peterborough.
I compiled the photos ,set them to some music and put them up on youtube

Red brick farmhouse
I would suggest pausing it so that the it may load to avoid stoppages

I think my favourite is Clifford Broadworth's house in Warkworth (Not in the D... househunter knows the place I'm talking about. Last time we were there I thought I found a body. This place is pretty much left like the day Clifford died in 1986...

I also love the "Cleugh Rd. Moonie House" in Campbellford... simply because it's sooo eerie.

My fav place around here was an old house on Matchett Line, which is south of peterborough. It got tore down a few years ago, but it was close to my rents house, so it was pretty much the first place I ever got to explore.

One of the walls was knocked out, which I assume is the reason they destroyed it, but we saw some pretty freaky stuff there. There were lots of weird symbols painted on the walls. Now that could have been done by anybody, but its when me and my cousin found some headless animals that it really got fubar. Seems kinda far fetched, I know. Funny thing is, my friend found the exact same thing when he went to it a few times, except that I didnt know him at the time, so a few years later he brought it up. Made me feel better because I figured I'd just imagined it or something.

Indeed, this is a fine example of unspoiled abandonment. I hope it doesn't get "discovered" as a result of UER though.

My fave place is not that close to P-borough and it's demoed now. It's the Trull Manor in Courtice. I cried the day it was destroyed.

I'm surprised to see the the new owners pretty much doing nothing with the property since the fire. They may as well just sell the land so the developers can build a Wal*Mart there.

I almost wish they would -- EVERY time I pass there, I have this itch to UE. And then I get listless when I can't. >( That building is teasing me!

I enjoyed the red brick farm house on 7 near fowlers corners, but nothing hugely special, trent rubber in lindsay was by far the coolest local thing I've seen, heaps of rubble now. I wanted to get into the prowler plant in lindsay but the 3 times I've gone there, there's been security there.
