happened to notice today, as I was taking a wee by the side US Route 9 in lovely deserted Chesterfield NY that there were steel belts hanging out of my passenger front Pirelli... Hmmm.

they grip great, but I'd never put another set on a car... you get no miles out of them!

Damnit

Quick tire hate message... Goodyear Eagle GPS tires... AHHH!

I had them on my 325i... they last forever, but jeez, if you need to drive on anything other than dry pavement, you're fucked. Have a set on the Tercel now and I can't accelerate or stop in the rain.

I put Hankook Ventus V4 Es H105's on the A4 due to the high wear. I've put about 25,000 on them so far and they still look almost brand new.

The 328 usually wears BFG g-Force Sports, which don't have near that kind of tread wear, but they are a good all around balance of grip, tread life, and price.

i went from Pirellis to Fuzion ZRi's... the ZRi's are the better all-around tire for noise and wear.

Samarui: On Duke's first company Impala he had, he never changed the tires on the 98,000 miles he racked up on it in 3 years and they still worked fine

yeah, but those tires also weren't Z-rated, AA-traction rated competition tires, either.

Sam, try running 180 treadwear tires all year round (socal), and then complain about tire wear The team i work for takes 20 laps around a road course and the tires are gone.

these are about as close to a comp tire as I could run on the street. Back when the SS came out, one of the biggest bitches over on CobaltSS.net was the fact that you got maybe 13k out of the tires! The Fuzion ZRi's aren't that bad of a tire... especially since they are $80 less than the Pirelli's

For tarmac rally, we run Nexen directionals on the Cosworth... they're cheap as dirt, have a nice soft compound, and are Z rated.

Z rated Nexen? Come on. It may have the letter on it but no way is that a true Z rated donut

Nexen and Wanli are the worst tires on the market. Chinese Tires

I was at Les Schwab Tires a few days ago. In case you have not heard of the chain, they are like the gold standard in regional tire chains.

Anyways, while I was talking with the one sales guy when my car was being brung up, I asked if they sold Z-rated tires. The sales guy then said "we have only one and yes, it would fit your Honda Passport"

Then I got a crazy picture in my head of me trying to race Samarui.

Michelin HydroEdge has a UTQG of 800 or something and has a 90,000 mile prorated warranty.
