I'm installing windows on a PC I had sitting around. It has a Duron 850Mhz if I recall, With a small 30mm fan, its slot A. The fan has some bad bearings but is still running. The think is friggin on fire, It burned me after 2 seconds tops. So are these CPUs known for there heat production? There is also a video card that is burning up, The case sides are off. I placed a 80mm fan blowing on the CPU for now. The rest of the case is perfectly fine temperature wise and both the hard drive and cd drive as outside the case.

Define "still running". Just because it is turning doesn't mean it is moving any meaningful amount of air. Those CPUs do produce a fair amount of heat.
Are you sure it's slot-A and not socket-A? If it's socket-A then any athlon CPU cooler/fan will do. If it's slot-a then good luck finding a new one. Best bet is to find a fan of the same size and swap it out, leaving the heat sink in place.

I have one running here and it seems alright. I have some cheap Global Win 80mm fan on it. seems effective.
If they are anything like the Thunderbirds, these things run fucking hot. Without sufficient cooling, you can completely kill it. I've seen it happen before.
