Here's a couple pictures of my truck right after the local mudbogs, jump-starting my buddy's truck.

I got a new set of tires for it, 35/15/15 TSL's. I had to test them, so I took the truck to a buddy's house. The truck did great, I love the new tires, buuuuuuut....

My buddy stuck his 3/4 ton diesel suburban on 36's in a creek, and when I went to pull him out, I blew up something in the front end. Going on sound alone, either the driver's hub, one of the driver's axle shafts, or the ring and pinion. I haven't looked yet. I doubt it's the ring and pinion, since there's no slop in the pinion and in four wheel drive with the hubs unlocked, it spins freely and makes no noises. I'm really leaning towards it being the hub, because of the sound, it made a few grinding noises before the final snap. If not, it'll be a good time to install a set of moly axle shafts. Anyways, here's a picture of the truck with new tires, sitting on the trailer after it broke.

looking at the striations in the fracture will tell you if it broke instantly, or began as a fissure that eventually deepened to the point of failure. im sure it's well behind you two years later...

here's a whoops inherited from a previous owner. broken panhard rod mount to the axle. i guess somebody decided to do a little amateur rock-crawling at some point and heard a loud "SNAPP-O", but it seemed to drive fine, so...

"damn dude, what was that?"
-I dunno dude, lets get outta here.

the leaf springs hold the axle in place well enough on the road, but they wouldnt last much longer on the rocks without it.

My YJ broke in the same place. They weren't designed for that much flex. Panhards are for the street. Shitcanned it, and front sway bar. And the spider gears get fucked from heat, first they turn blue, then start to break off teeth. That comes from too much spinning of one tire for too long. What is an open diff anyway?

I've broken a torsion bar and CV joint on separate occasions. The torsion bar we had to drive 4 hours (one way) to get a replacement so I could get home. Ick.

i finally managed to break the angry truck a while ago. Somehow ended up breaking the PS pump bracket in half... Not sure how the hell it happened but it did. Also got a diff making noise now, gonna have to pull the third out and see whats going on, probably broke the cheap locker in it.
