Hello all, my parents have moved to costa rica and are looking to buy a car.
They are looking right now at a 2000 Toyota Prado, 3000cc Turbo Diesel Automatic with only 158,000 km. I've been told that this is essentially a Lexus GX. now, do you know of any known problems with this type of vehicle?
It will be driven off road daily, through the worst roads i have ever been on. so it needs to be tough.
It was previouly owned by a banker living in the city, so it probably hasn't seen too many bad roads.
it has no collisions, no liens or outstanding tickets.
So what say the masses, yay, or nay?


(i'd tell you how much they are looking for it, but, it would seem far too high for a car of that age. Costa rica has totally different Car prices that the states or canada, so just know, it is reasonably priced)

Im thinking find themselves something that can be beaten on. Lots of Jeeps and Hilux's down there. A spiffy lexus ain't going to getcha out of a pothole the size of a Chevette.

ignore the question, the mechanic found a problem with the turbo =P
