I own a mac book pro which I ONLY use to dj (running Serato Scratch Live) along with an iPhone and an iPod. The whole superior hardware thing/macs are bulletproof is BS. It's the same damn hardware as most PCs (all Intel). At work, over 60% of computers are old school Dell Optiplex G240's running Pentium 4s (pre HT) which run 24/7, 365 days a year, and work just fine. There are well over 200+ of these machines still running trough out the several buildings. The rest are Lenovo Thinkcenters. They get harped on day after day and just don't care. Can't say the same about the shitty mac books whose bodies crack where the screen meets the main body right below the keyboard. At home, as a media center in my bedroom, I am using a super shitty low end Acer desktop with a fucking sluggish AMD Sampron, 1GB DDR1 ram and a AGP video card. Found it in the dumpster one night. vintage shit right here, and it works awesome, 1080P playback through XBMC and everything. Original everything, even the power supply (original acer tags still on it). Can't say that about my roommates imac which I got the immense please to rip apart to replace the PS (who the fuck designs this shit?). My Lenovo T500 has been EVERYWHERE (I'm an aircraft maintenance engineer, i travel a lot) and it's running every bit as good as my much much newer MacBook Pro despite being 2.5 years old. I reinstalled the OS 3 months ago because I switched over to windows 7, was running original OS it shipped with (Vista) until then. I like my macbook pro, but i'm still running 6 pc's at home and that ain't gonna change any time soon. They are nice, but macs are sure as hell not super magical invincible machines most macboys make em sound to be.
