And this one i thought i would just throw in, my old 86 Daytona Turbo Z, Hybrid t3/t4, "direct connection" engine management, bunch of suspension mods. This thing cornered like it was on rails, although just don't hit a damn pothole!!lol

and when I moved back from Tennessee, I bought an 86 Dodge 600 coupe for $300. That little car is still running to this very day.

My dad used to have an '86 Caravan with the carbed 2.2 litre. NO options...

He sold it in early 2001, with 485,000 km on the clock. To this DAY, that van is still going strong, and makes 2 trips to florida every year.

When he sold it, the only repairs that had been done to it were 2 alternators and a rad. (And the usual brakes, exhaust, etc)

Had no rust, either, aside from underneath the rear window on the hatch. I'm pretty sure that he preserved the body and paint by never washing it.

Oh I know! Friend of mine had one, it was awesome.

There used to be a guy in the online turbo Mopar community with a turbo Caravan that he drag raced, and did REALLY well with. Can't think of his name for the life of me.

Thanks Bandi, i kinda miss that car. The picture was taken before i lowered it a little. Not too much, just enough to help with the centre of gravity. I concentrated more on the handling versus outright speed for that car. Although it still did go pretty good. I embarrased my fair share of ricers in town! lol!
Wasn't that guy that raced the turbo Caravan named Gary Donovan?!? Before i gave up being a mechanic, i used to have a couple of customers that had the turbo Caravan...they were different anyway. One thing about the K vehicles, they were easy to work on!!

Samurai....you need to come to your senses and come back to Ford, gain a little respect back!! Ha Ha!!

sorry, but when my little Cobalt SS can beat a 4.6L and a 5.0L Mustang, I'm staying GM for life. And come on, isn't the new Camaro dead sexy or what?

Yeah, the new Camaro is definitely a gorgeous car! I'm a little disappointed that GM jumped on the "retro" bandwagon. They had a chance to do something really special, since they had a clean slate, considering the car has been out of production for a while. Not that retro is bad, it has just been overdone in the last few years and this was GM's opportunity to take a styling lead. I've been finding for the last 10 years (or better actually) that their styling has been very "been there, done that". There has been exceptions to the rule, and i am crossing my fingers that a couple of interesting new models coming down the pipe might prove me wrong. But as far as flashback heritage styling goes, that Camaro sure hits the target. If i wasn't a Ford guy, i would probably be in the line up for one as well. Actually, as a side benefit, the reintroduction of Camaro "should" drive the Mustang to bigger and better things!! Long live the muscle car wars!!!! lol!

Actually, as a post script, i haven't heard pricing for the Camaro, i hope GM doesn't screw up in this department again. I think this is one of their major flaws....they have a habit of killing a model by overpricing it. Case in point, the GTO (a car with huge potential, although styled a bit weak) and the SSR!! Both vehicles were interesting and had bucket loads of potential, but was priced out of the market, and existence!!

The only time you lose to one of those is when you lose your lunch looking at it.

(I suppose I'd have more respect for it if it could pull off fast while still being ugly like the new Nissan GTR...)
