Around here, we are finding a bunch of engines at 50k miles on them that are over what he is willing to pay and plus, doesn't need an engine that young.

junkyards are reluctant to save high mileage engines because over a certain dollar amount, people expect warranties... an old engine isn't worth that much trouble. Hence, why he's having a hard time.

Well, he doesn't care about the warranty as the Ford dealer where his company has a service contract will back it as long as they do the install.

exactly. a competent garage would never install a 150k+ engine to begin with.
i mean, Skelly, i've been on that side of it. Working in a shop, if someone came to me and said, "I have a high mileage engine and want it installed in that car."
I'd be like, ok, but we're not covering anything that happens to that car/engine once it leaves this shop. Period.

Apparently I heard him wrong in the first place. They would back it only if it was only serviced at a Ford dealer since day 1, which isn't many CVPIs out there if anything. Either way, he will take a engine from 100k to 130k and they will do the install.

why wold there be a guarantee on an engine with over 100-130 000 miles on it? most guaranties end at 60-80k
