That would be quite a nifty idea. The design they showed was just plain HIDEOUS though...

The could remake the old Marathon in an exact design copy, except make it a good unibody and use as much of that bendable plastic as possible for the bopdy panels (like most euro cars have now) to save weight. I also fully support the small diesel option... When properly tuned they'll still cost less to run than a petrol lump since they could run biodiesel.

Yeah, that prototype design looks awful... but it's a cool concept at least.

I've noticed some retro "London Cab" style taxis rolling around Oshawa.. they look pretty cool.

you guys know that i am almost 100% GM loyal... One of the BIGGEST MARKET BLUNDERS was GM axing the big RWD chassis. IDIOTS! FUCKING MORONS!!! They handed the entire police, cab and special use market right to Ford on a silver platter. And the worst part was that the Crown Victorias were shitty cop cars. They didn't last, were gutless as fuck when compared to that LT1 in the Caprice, handled like garbage... Have you ever driven or ridden in a former police Caprice? These things are fucking big heavy missiles that just GO!

And then they did it again in 2002 when the Camaro/Firebird said adios.
I'm glad to see the fullsize RWD car coming back as well as the Camaro!

Take that, Ford! Stick that in your ass Chrysler!!!
hehehe

I was in New York when that decision was handed down. I asked a GM representative in their nifty little customer information center that they have set up in the lobby of their building.
I was told that it was GM's official position that fleet sales (Taxis and police) was "A market GM doesn't need" and "That Ford can have it"

yeah we have those here too! I wanna catch a ride one of these days even if I pay the driver to just take me for a little spin. Dunno why but I really like that style. I believe they are made in Asia somewhere, so not exactly like the London cabs.

Now what I really want to do is ride on one of the old school double decker buses.

Did you know that there was a run of police Luminas with the 3800 Series II SC engine in it? No governor. Extra boost. Specially calibrated 4T65E... i'd love to find one of those cars.

I think there's a Leyland double-decker either in Quebec, Ontario, or maybe somewhere around NYC... I saw a pic of it yesterday, but I cant remember where the pic came from (I think it may have been the bus convention in NYC from last year or a couple years ago...)

There's some double deckers running around Ottawa, as well as London Cabs. Down the road here there was a double decker (open deck) bus sitting in some guys drive way. I would love to get my hands on it!! Actually our city contemplated buying a small fleet of them to use, but decided restoration and upkeep wouldn't allow it to be feasible.

The OPP in Campbellford used to have one of those... it was awesome. Had quad exhaust tips on the back which gave a nice little warning.
