Hey!

I would like to know if there is a way to make your own NN-XT patches from your own samples. I would like to do so even if it means using 3rd party software. Anyone have any experience with this?

For example, in the reason factory sound bank available with reason 3.0 and 4 in the NN-XT section, there are banks of sound effects. I would like to make additional custom banks.

Yes. Works great if you have Pro Tools linked to it. Just record the sounds/samples to PT, then save the files to your HD and open them up on your favorite Reason module.

The sound/sample can also be stored in a PT session and controlled via the MIDI or Reason link.

yes i have cubase linked with rewire to reason..

At the time what I meant was, was there a way to have a nt-xt program saved... or would it be called a patch.

for example, each key plays a different sound, such as every key making a different drum sound etc...

so then you load that "patch" up when needed.

Although my need for doing that is no so great anymore, because I am on other things right now

Yeah, with Reason, they're either presets or patches.

With Pro Tools new synth plugins you can save it right to your session. Not sure with Cubase. Haven't tried it.

hey, is there a pro tools edition that works fine with out the interface mixer or rack mixer or hardware?

I want to download it to give it a shot, but can't figure out which version I should aim to try out.

They only have old versions, but they don't support them anymore. You may be able to find old copies on the web...

Or locate a studio that uses Pro Tools, and ask for a tour of the studio. They're always happy to help and show you their proud facility. I'm even sure that they'll give you a brief tour of the PT equipment and how it all works.

I just dont have the money to buy project mix so I was wondering if there was a version not revolving around that, maybe m-powered.

Totally forgot... M-Powered Pro tools can work for you. Look for copies or willing friends to help with that. It'll operate with any M-Audio I/O interface. I'd also try your local music consignment shop. They usually have some copies hanging around or people who might have them.

I have better luck getting it here...

except I only have an m-audio midi controller keyboard... not an interface.
