I am in the process of applying for a scholarship (it's only worth $1000) and instead of making the essay part a personal choice essay, they decided to provide a question. The thing is, I have nothing to write about the question. Also, I don't remember the proper guidelines to an essay lol. I havent been to college for 4 years.

Super simple way...three paragraphs. Every essay is made up of at least three of them. First paragraph, you introduce your topic, second paragraph, discuss your topic and third, summarize the first two with a few of your own viewpoints/opinions thrown in. Works the same with the persuasive essay as well. Introduction, discussion of why or why not, then summarization of why you do or do not believe in something. Make it simple, make it plain and make it understandable.
This way always works. I've had professors tell me that it's simplistic, but they had to give me A's anyway, because this way is foolproof. It's just that simple, I'm serious.

Ok well I am a supervisor at Tim Hortons and I have to write a scholarship essay about my "favorite memory of working at Tim Hortons." I was going to base it about the time I got promoted to supervisor and explain what kind of skills I gained from becoming a supervisor. Is that too boring and technical?

They didnt specify on what type of essay, so I was thinking just a normal 3 or 5 paragraph essay or even a narrative essay. Not quite sure.

You could make something up. Like the time the place got robbed and you saw your store manager take a bullet between the eyes.

That would work. Simple narrative always works best but you need a point, make your point, prove your point/explain your point, then close it with why you chose that point and why it works for you.
The best essays are always the ones where you're trying to convince someone, so try to do that with your material. Even if it's boring, try to make them believe it.
