I've been driving a 2007 Ford E350 around at work lately since Enterprise Rent-a-Car has been issuing them to us instead of the nice Chevy Express vans.

Now, my grandfather when I was around 4 or 5 years old had a late 1980s E350 and well I found it fun and so he did as well.

Flash Forward to now and WHAT THE HELL?

First of all, the power steering is very weak. This is the first time I had to actually put effort into making a right turn!

The cruise control is very weird. It doesn't control things smoothly and as well as its only indication its on is a very bizarre little lighted icon of arrow with a circle.

There's no rear defroster and that won't help you because the rear view mirror is of course blocked by everyone's head in the van.

Oh and I swear they designed the driver seat for the Harlem Globetrotters because you need long legs just to reach the pedals.

Overall, my thoughts of Ford have sunken to new Levels. I just need to hear that Ford ruined the F-series and they will be history.

Where I worked in Vermont (Job Corps) we had three 2000 Chevy Express 3500 vans (6.5 Turbodiesel V8's, heavy duty automatic, one ton axles)... and those were a joy to drive. Your gramma could drive on and not fuss. And then we started getting Ford vans in from GSA... these fucking vans sucked the sweat off a fat babys ass! You can't keep the fucking things in the road they wander so much, the radios suck, engines suck, they sucked in the snow, the seats sucked (when you're driving 8+ hours a day, that was important). Basically, between the four drivers, there was always a fistfight for the Chevy keys.

The two I have been driving lately (we far as I know are the only two renters of these vans they have on their lot) don't wander too much and yes, the seats suck even for a 2 hour drive!

I sent my boss an email about getting a Chevy Express for next time and he said he will just flat out ask the guys at the Enterprise office.

Lets just be realistic here y'all, don't all fullsize vans suck? Fords more than others for sure though.

I drive a '99 Dodge Ram 3500 van for work occasionally... thing has been through hell and back, and actually, I kinda like it. The gas mileage really isn't that terrible either. I've towed cars to calgary, florida and all over the place with the Vanimal.
