Fedge posted a thread (now in archives) almost 2 years ago about some place in Durham Region that was going to be used as a temporary funeral home...

Any new developments on that house?
Fedge, do you still have pictures?? I think you titled it "Temporary House Of The Dead | Whitby, Ontario | August 10, 2006" but when I am directed to your page, those pics aren't there.

I haven't been up that part of Thickson Rd since the day we visited back in 2006 so I can't say what's happened since but here are the pics...

Haha..Yea, I could have a car, but alas I am putting my money towards another post secondary education....

That would be fun... I might actually head out tomorrow for some good old UE in Whitby or Oshawa, depending on the weather and if I get my ass outta bed early enough!

Earlier today, went to see the house that was supposed to be used as the "temporary house of the dead." It was located at 5295 Thickson Road North.
Well, unfortunately, the house is no more...
This is what was on the property where the house used to stand:

Brooklin Memorial Chapel Funeral Home

Funny, because the sign that used to be on the fence of the previous house stated that it was going to be used as a "temporary funeral home."

Didnt the old place have winding paths thru the woods behind it?
I seem to recall a small creek, old deck chairs and a boat as well

I looked up the old photos on my computer and posted them on flickr. Not much to see but helps with the comparison

I think the unique creepy guy in shorts petitioned council to save the unique fence. Creepy Guys in shorts do those kind of things all the time.

Actually these photos stem from a failed scheme by fedge and myself to retool the whole " Wheres waldo" theme with a much more edgy " wheres the creepy guy in the shorts" scenario

unfortunately Creepy guy was decapitated during a photo shoot and subsequent attempts to replace him with other characters such as ernie from sesame street never panned out
