it's a point-and-shoot medium format camera that kodak produced between 1957 and 1964. my girlfriend's mom found it at a garage sale and bought it for me because she knows i'm a photo-geek. i have yet to test if it still works, but if it doesn't i know a guy who's been repairing cameras for a long time who could probably fix it. he's got a basement full of medium format cameras and film SLRs (his workshop is in the basement). anyway, here's a link that shows the kind of camera it is:

now to locate some 127 film....

I put some 127 through my brownie a couple summers ago. Nice, though not enough different from 35mm to make it worthwhile (for me). Developing wasn't too hard to find, but no shop I found could print them. Good luck!

Efke/Adox still makes 127 film as does some other brands. results will be fair but not great, these camera's aren't known for there sharp lenses. Nice to experiment with.

Yeah. As Karen says - Kodak have never been known for making a high-quality camera. If it's going to cost any money at all to get that thing repaired, you'd probably be better off spending it on something like a Super Ikonta or somesuch.

yeah, i'm not expecting great quality since it's an instant camera anyway. but it'll still be fun to play with something i've never used before and suchlike. it's a weird looking little camera, if nothing else it'll be good for sparking up conversations.

I've also got an old TLR brownie. The Reflex 20. It takes 620(or trimmed 120!) and has a very bright viewscreen. The pictures aren't half bad either. I've been stopped many a time walking around on the street with that camera. It's practically a chick magnet.

I even got mine to fire off some flashbulbs.

Yes. The retinas are beautiful, it's true, and I have nothing at all snarky to say about Schneider lenses which (in my opinion) are easily as desirable as Leica or Zeiss.
