I, for one believe that armageddon is happening right now as we speak. Notice how storms are getting more intense as time goes by? for example, the string of twisters that ripped thru the midwest, global warming, and drought.

Next, us Americans have to deal with a failing economy and the war in Iraq.

Have you noticed that there are more cases of rapes, murders, and school shootings now than say 30 years ago?

I have studied the topic and it is believe that we are in the beginning right now as we speak.

Here is a link that I found interesting:http://www.prophet...ne.com/newslet.htm

It is about a self-proclaimed prophet who has successfully predicted catastrophes and focuses mainly on armageddon. That man says he gets those messages from God and it seems he knows his bible quite well.

Discuss.

I believe in Armageddon. It's a real place in the Valley of Jezreel in Israel. You can go there today if you want. It's called Megiddo locally. Never been there, but it does exist.

Well, I do believe in the other meaning of Armageddon too but I have no idea if it is happening right now or not.

"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him."

- Jesus, in the Gospel of Matthew[/quote}

I think Megiddo is actually the place that the battle of armageddon is supposed to take place.

Even today, Megiddo is a strategically important site. Back in the day, it was usually the main battlefield for invading that part of the world. If you wanted to hit Palestine, you went through Megiddo. If you wanted to hold Palestine, Megiddo was where you headed the enemy off at the paas.

Not surprising, then, that it figures into Saint John's vision. Interestingly, it is only mentioned once, in Revelation 16:16.

"Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon." Armageddon, or "Har-megiddo", "the hill of Megiddo" or "the mountain of Megiddo".

Yeah, I know all about when he said that (or at least the one time he said it when the mic was turned on.)

I found a really good picture of what the Plains of Armageddon look like today. I can't hotlink to it, though.

Looks much less desolate than I would have imagined, given it being Armageddon and all...

The fact that the antichrist is running our country? Yeah, that I can understand as a problem... but the fact that we have to pay a lot for gas? Not a sign of the end times.

Actually, it's a pretty rich spot of ground, one reason why so many wars were fought over it.

Depending on which Beast we are talking about, it could have as many as 10. So that goat could be a few horns shy of a Revelation, actually. Not to mention several heads.

If this is Armageddon, it is lame.

Yeah, the world didn't used to have thunderstorms like the one last week, clearly the world is coming to an end. And God has always signalled his wrath by sending a tornado through the midwest...

Oh no, you're right. And Mandias, haven't you heard? Obama, not Bush, is the Antichrist.
This guy says so! (Actually, only that he "may be" with compelling arguments!) http://www.baracko...rist.blogspot.com/

No wait, snopes says no. http://www.snopes....ama/antichrist.asp

Srry.

As a side note, I like Obama. And no, I don't think our gas prices etc signal the end times..... people have been raping and murdering each other since the beginning, I don't think that could ever be a legit harbinger.

So I said "Why don't you shove it where the sun don't shine" and so he did. He put it in the cupboard under the stairs and it hasn't been mentioned since.

When the Bush Twins win the oval office, compleating the trifecta of stupid, THAT will be the final sign.

The end will come out of a lab somewhere in southeast Asia, when the first self replicating refuse reduction nanite dumps it's assignment protocols.

Yeah, someone is probably that stupid.

Know what's the funniest thing about Armageddon? Those sad Christian groups that are actively trying to fulfill the prophecies of Armageddon to kickstart the whole thing. For instance, wanting to demolish the Dome of the Rock in order for the Temple of Jerusalem to be rebuilt.
