We went from freezing cold and snow - skipped all of spring - and jumped into the tropical forest of rain and devastation.

You're telling me! Here in NJ it went from 70f average last week, to a soaring 85f average, with temp highs up to 101 degrees! Today's heat index is over a whopping 110f!!

Luckily I know a nice cold mountain spring with deep pools I can take a dip in... but sheesh!

the floods really suck. all the towns around my area are flooded pretty badly. Water ended up getting into my basement, but luckily it wasn't much.

Severe thunderstorms: I approve.

i'd usually agree with that, until a tornado came WAY too close to me and my 3-month-old baby over the weekend...beautiful yet scary as fuck at the same time.

I suppose I can see your point of view. I ended up sitting watching the bad storm last night with my window open. I got soaked, my bed got soaked and my sheets were drenched, but watching the lightning make the world look like it was under a strobe light was so worth it.

Thursday and Friday we barely hit 60. Saturday through yesterday (Tuesday) we were close to 100. Thats almost a 40 degree difference in a 24 hour period.

Course, with the long ass, miserable winter we had, I'm not complaining.

Today is 82 and its perfect!

lots of rain = flooding = no drains to explore without serious life risks.

so i can't scout right now. And my bonfire last weekend was rained in, and Six Flags almost blew away from the tornado the next town over (had it, I would have blown away too)

A severe thunderstorm totally wrecked up my town and the surrounding area on Tuesday night. Some people are still without power! Apparently the thunderstorm formed a small tornado (yes, tornado, in NJ, for probably the first time ever?!!) which cut across town ripping up gigantic oak trees and smashing things with debris. I've never seen my town so messed up.... Very odd feeling.

Damn, I feel bad about bitching that the weather that we've had. I just read that a bunch of boys scouts just got killed by a tornado while hiking and another guy froze to death trying to save his wife and friend during a freak June blizzard while mountain climbing.

The earth is pissed.
