Break and Enter or B&E

If you force your way into a location then you can be charged with B&E and can face jail time and/or a fine. Some locations are boarded up and to gain access a board might be removed or shifted. The latter of the two would most likely bring a fine if caught but the first one is classified as B&E.

If you do need to move/remove something to gain entry, be on your watch as someone might see the moved/removed article and alert the police. Personal experience has taught me that if you can, put the article you moved/removed back in its original position to subside any suspicions. Usually if you have to move/remove something to gain entry, someone/something is keeping tabs on the place.

It is important to note that in Canada, there is a small loophole as of Oct. 2007. The section dealing with breaking and entering in the Criminal Code is section 348 ( In this section, only breaking and entering with the intent to commit an indictable offence (something for which you can go to prison, not get a ticket) therein is actually illegal. However, later, it states that unless you can prove otherwise, you are assumed to have done it to break the law.
