Well, not necessarily on me, but on my mother.
Ever since my sister had a baby back in March, we've had this kid every day for at least 2 or 3 hours a day. It's not his fault, but it's his mother's.
He's getting over colic and had other issues, like a really nasty temper and gets pissed off and spends hours upon hours screaming, not the cute baby type screams, I'm talking the reedy, nasty, loud, miserable, neverending screams that sound like we're killing the kid and all we're trying to do is just feed him or get him to go to sleep.
My sister says she needs a break and needed to go back to work? What about us? For over 3 months we've put up with it. We get the baby during his pissy miserable time of the day, she gets him when he's asleep...now come on. You can't tell her to take the kid home because she either doesn't listen or throws the things that she's done for you, which isn't much, in your face.
I know one thing, I've fucking had it up to my eyeballs.

A nerve-frazzled parent - sleep + a screaming baby with colic = ALL BAD.

The kid doesn't have a bad temper, he has colic. He's going to scream and cry 24/7 until he doesn't have colic. Hopefully, there are people in his life who will understand this, and will keep calm and offer his mother some much-needed down-time.

Your sister is lucky to have you and your mom to help.

Trust me...it'll be over soon, and he'll turn out to be a good kid. For your part, take breaks, walks, whatever to give yourself some space. The colic thing is tough...thank Christ we didn't have to deal with it...but believe me when I say I feel your pain.

Yeah, colic is ugly, and not the kid's fault.

Maybe its a good thing she brings the kid to your house, especially if she can't deal with it?? Easy to say, but hard to tolerate when the kid is screaming for hours, I know.

People would do this to me when I had vacations from work. They viewed it as free babysitting time; which I don't mind OCCASIONALLY. But they would ask me to watch their kids for an hour or two, and not show up for the entire day. Or say they were bringing just one of their kids and I'd end up with three. Then somebody told me that "nobody can take advantage of me unless I let them," which was true. It was at that point that I stopped it because it was becoming nobody elses fault but my own.

I know its your sister, and she obviously needs the help. But if its driving both you and your mom nuts, maybe she can divide the time with somebody else. What about "babys daddy" side of the family?

This why I tell people I'm allergic to kids.

I had a friend who asked me to watch her 2 year old for a couple of hours one night & she didn't come back until the next afternoon!

Had someone try that with me at work.

That's right, dump their kid off on a complete stranger. I pointed out to her that I'm not a baby sitter, she insisted and I told her I'll call the cops and report the kid abandoned if she leaves without the kid. That got the message across.

Totally screwed up if you ask me.

Oh...this kid has a temper. If you don't feed him immediately...you hear the same kind of scream as when he's got a colic attack.
If you don't keep him amused...he screams the same way.
I have never seen a 3 month old act anything like this. You'd think he'd need sleep.
What really gets me...I'm on night shift this week. So...I don't get ANY sleep whatsoever. Since he screams from 6:30 am till 4 pm.

well, teach him that screaming doesn't get anything. if he screams when you don't feed him, don't feed him till he stops.
