That is the one by Henrys, right? If so, he just recently raised his prices by quite a bit. I was going to pick up a Rollei there and then, swoosh, the prices jumped by hundreds!

I know someone selling one. Reasonable price too. I'm over committed on gear as it is, otherwise I'd pick it up. I mean a hassey, 2 80mm lenses and I believe 3 backs.

I also nominate a Bronica. I've been using an ETRSi for a few years now, marvelous results and not utterly expensive.

Bronica S series, with the S2A being the most recent

I've used the Bronica ETSi and its a wonderful 6x4.5 camera. The bronicas come with several affordable lenses and accessories, but this was a studio camera and had the weight of one as well. I like the TRL for portability -- and the SLR's for performance/ease of use.

The Bronica SQAi is also fully manual if you want it to be. You can use it also with aperture priority but you can also use it fully manual. It's more recent than any other Bronica 6x6 SLR equipment.

Whoops! You made me look it up. The guy said the one hole was for a standard cable release and the other was for the fancy Bronica one. Now that I have looked up the manual I see that I was duped. Oh well, I can still return it and see if the cable release thingy can be fixed.

Since I was duped once, I wonder if there is some special trick. I doubt it, but I wonder.

First of all congrats. on your latest acquisition!

I'm a little confused about your cable release question also...

are you needing a dual cable release to trigger a leaf shutter lens in sync. with your camera shutter, (hard to find sometimes), or are you looking for a cable release that screws over top instead of into your shutter release button, (easier to find, but you'll probably end up having to buy a cable release with a squeeze bulb)

If I was more familiar with the model of camera you bought I might have been more help.

(either way both cables I mentioned are handy to have arround!)

the double is also handy for stereo images using two cameras, the one with the bulb is handy for self portraits since it often comes with a REALY long cord, and the attachment you might need comes unscrewed and could work with the cord you have in the photo)

P.S. if the cord is 'broken' b/c it remains depressed, you just have to press down on the silver disc that the stem & button gets pressed towards and it will pop up again. (I realise you probably know this, but just in case, its a simple 'fix')

I love cameras and gear! and I never tire of hearing people talk about their gear!

It doesn't go into the shutter release button, but the side of the camera. Like so

The problem is that when you depress the cable release (and I have a few so I tried a few) it is not connecting with/depressing anything, so nothing happens. I assume the camera would have to be taken apart to fix this, but I bought it from a repair shop, so if it can be done he should be able to fix it.

I would suggest the mamiya 6 but you are looking for a slr not a range finder. I still suggest the mamiya 6 regardless.

Yeah, it is. It is a weird thing to be broken on a camera. I kind of assume I am just doing something wrong, but what? It seems like it should be easy enough. I will bring it in today and see what they say.

That is strange. It is supposed to use a standard cable release.
