A huge staple of my wardrobe is mens cargo pants. When I go to buy them, I have trouble finding ones that fit because they are all too big for me.

I have tried looking for women's cargo pants and that's where my rant comes in.

Womens cargo pants are just as impractical as most girls clothes. They are tight fitting, made of thin material and the pockets don't hold anything. If you try to put anything in those pockets, it looks like a squirrel who has stuffed to many nuts in his cheek pouches.

Kinda defeats the purpose of cargo pants, don't you think?

At least I don't bitch about jello and cargo pants.
I bitch about people who bitch too much and being fat and stupid people who annoy me.

Oh, btw. Don't you just hate Bryan?

I agree. Jeans all the way! Perfect for anything! Running, swimming, sleeping... they're there for me! (seriously)

Any type of pants that would appear to add more pesky inches around my thighs and hips are a no go for me.

While on the topic of pants in this delightful pissed off forum,I'll also add that I really hate it when pants are referred to as a 'pant'. I find that mostly magazines do this, and will accept that it is likely the appropriate term, because a 'pair of pants' implies two pairs, when in general we only wear one at a time. But really, who says a 'pant'??

And I won't get started about the dreadful fashion faux pas known as the 'camel toe',an unfortunate side effect of choosing a 'pant' which is/are too small...

Cargo pants are disgusting. Jeans are hot on anyone (if they fit).

Just wear jeans and carry around a bag with all your crap in it. Problem solved.

But it leads one to wonder why it is that pants, trousers, and their ilk are always plural.
Consider:
Pants. Trousers. Leggings. Breeches. Britches. Jeans. Corduroys. Pyjama bottoms. Joggers. Longjohns. Slacks. Jodhpurs. Khakis. Bellbottoms. Chinos.
Is this trivial or is it deep? Maybe in our cognitive representation of pants, we have the conception of each leg. That's why they're all 'a pair of' pants, trousers, or whatever. It sure seems intuitive.

But it's not so simple. If a pair of pants indicates a pair of leg tubes, why do we do plurals for:
Shorts. Underpants. Knickers. Briefs. Boxers. Trunks. Speedos. Underoos. Bloomers. Drawers. Panties. Jockeys.

So maybe it's the pair of legholes. It's true that things with just one leg-egress are singular:
Skirt. Kilt. Dress. Slip. Toga. Muumuu. Sarong.

Though there's an exception. There's one article of clothing with two legholes, but is nevertheless singular. But its name's focus is really not on the whole garment, as on one particular part of it. What's the word?
