PREPARE YOURSELF FOR DESTRUCTION!!!!!!!!!

Remember kids, when driving a standard transmission, completely remove your foot from the clutch pedal. It's not an F-16, you don't need both feet on the pedals.

hehehe... on my 98 Cavalier, I got 217,000 miles out of the factory clutch.

Definitely. That was what I was told when I learned to drive a stick.

The '79 Zephyr station wagon I had for my last two years of college was also a standard and despite the fact that my brother and I both learned to drive standard on it, was used as a company vehicle by my Dad and generally took a beating, was still driving on its factory clutch when it went to the scrap yard at the ripe old age of 10 yrs. Of course, when the temp was below -10, the car wouldn't start or when it was damp out, the car complained big time.

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.

...and I gladly would sir. I bought this beast brand new off the lot for $10,000 10 years ago. I have spent less than $4000 on it (not including fuel) since then and that included two sets of tyres.

It has taken me from fredericton to Quebec City and all the way up the Rocky Mountains and back and everywhere in between and not once Ever have I gotten stuck or stranded. I have zoomed past nearly every other type of vehicle and SUV as they lay stuck or in the ditch in winter. I have often been the only vehicle on the road whilst everyone else couldn't move or the roads were too snowy.

It is the most rugged, simple, and reliable Car I have ever owned or driven. I have gone places off road that even the Army vehicles I have driven would have gotten stuck in.

If they want to pay me to take them and I have somewhere to put them, I would do it gladly.

Laugh if you will sir, but all the while, I will be smiling.

this is the exact same way I felt about my 91 Cavalier RS. It took me all over the east coast in every weather imaginable. It was a battle tank and was only stuck once (I drove in a loader wheel rut that a snowdrift had blown over and I hung the front suspension).
