Happening to every location in the egypt section, and only started after I voiced my opinion about domesticized animals in the Pissed Off forum....

If you'll notice, your location hadn't ever received validation from a moderator. We've been going back and forth on what to do with tourist locations, active cemetaries, and the like for some time. I also didn't realize that your location had never been photographed before, and that the only way one could see pictures of it was through UER. If I'd known that, I never would have marked it for deletion.

In addition to your locations, there are fifty nine others marked for deletion on mostly the same grounds (tourist locations, active locations with no infiltration, etc). In the last few weeks, we've been deleting locations that don't fit in the LDB like mad. I do have to say though, yours has been the best reaction so far.

Though you and I have different opinions on the qualities of domestic animals, it's stupid and childish for you to think that that's the only reason I deleted your locations. My life is full and happy and wonderful because I have a house full of dogs. What you think about that will make no difference whatsoever.

No, I got anthrax in the mail from someone whose location I put in the deletion queue.

Karnak Temple is pretty cool, but it is
a) open to tourists
b) widely photographed
c) not what anybody has in mind for urban exploration

If you want to put something like this, a tourist site, in the DB, you need something extra. Get behind the scenes. Go where you're not supposed to. Find a way to photograph it in a way that hasn't been done before. Or just take outstandingly awesome photos. Otherwise what makes your contribution any more unique than pretty well every single Egyptian person's Myspace blog?

I think the mods are starting to pigeon-hole UE. Why shouldn't a tourist location or an active cemetery be in the DB? We're still exploring the world around us, so who cares if it's open to the public or not. Maybe we should start carrying a checklist to see if our trips really count as exploring. At the same time, I can think of many abandoned locations that have pretty much become tourist attractions. Time to take those out of the DB too.

I agree with Brind. Exploration holds many faces for many different people of many different levels of activity and capability. Who are we to define what someone else's definition is of UE or whether their definition is valid enough to be included in the DB?
