In the 2nd quarter of this year Exxon Mobil broke the record for the biggest profit by any company in the history of the United States. What a bunch of bullshit. I feel like throwing up over the fact that they made $1455.85 per second during the 2nd quarter and still missed their profit forecast.

Someone put up a calculator which calculates how much Exxon/Mobil is making per second in this country.
It's something like half a million dollars and the digital counter is moving so fast it'd make your head spin.
I can't wait till the bottom drops out of oil futures.

A 40% gain is pretty striking.

I don't mean to be a smartass but I wonder sometimes if they compensate for inflation when articles come out saying record profits, or they're just too hasty to jump on large oil companies.

Well I was listening to talk radio yesterday and found out that the number the media is reporting is GROSS income. So it's a bit misleading. That $1455 per second isn't profit, just income. Who knows, it might take them $1450 to make that $1455 and then there are only making 5 dollars profit per second. I am sure it's higher than that but I don't think they release that information to the public.
