I grew up in Hamilton/Fairfield and knew Hamilton was a major stop on the Miami-Eerie Canal which gave way to its now non-existent prosperity, but I never knew that Hamilton once had a canal specifically for powering industrial centers and factories, now the Hamilton Hydraulic Canal is plaguing city streets from below. Check out this neat video.

It's a shame they didn't try and run a subway through the canal before the slapped the road on top of it, that would have been cool as hell.

Anyone up for it?





PM me if anyone wants to do some draining soon. I figure we can meet and park at Cincy mills, buy some flashlights right there at Bass Pro then all head on over to this for some adventuring. Reliable source says it goes all the way to the river.

I did a drain once recently, I call it the "Coke Drain" since it was located by the Now vacant Coke Plant in Indy. It was awesome, I loved it. Look forward to doing another one.

Attempted a CSO near the "aquaduct", and that ended in failure du eto a control flap covering the whole thing.

Went in about 2 1/2 miles, then got to a part where I had to ninja jump from a rung to the extension which was too high for one to just go in, so I turned around.
