| | | Wow, my car ownership history is considerably less than most people here. Of course, when I buy something, I'll drive it until it falls apart. 1989 Pontiac Firebird, Silver Blue, 2.8L of nonexistent power, automatic - My first car. 1993 Chevy C1500 Silverado, White, extended cab, 4.3L of nonexistent power, manual 2002 Chevy Silverado LS, C1500, Midnight Blue extended cab, 5.3L (finally some reasonable power!) automatic, the first vehicle I bought new.

It was actually a slightly humorous stereotype, but I'm glad you got that out of your system. To put things in perspective, even if I could afford those cars, the stereotype associated with them and my personal automotive preferences turn me off to such cars. They're common, I'd rather drive something interesting. You get the point, good day!
| exactly... i was on the dragstrip and some assmonkey had a Ferrari up there... it was a 355F1 and he just thought he was going to wipe the competition. This guy in a primer gray beat to fuck redneck-o-rama Chevy Nova just evaporated his ass. And after this menace from Montreal with this turd brown mid-80's Civic sedan embarassed him further! So, money is no substitute for substance. It is also no replacement for skill. i think we're all in agreement on this, but wouldn't it be nice to take one of these exotics for a hell-beat somewhere... I mean drive these cars like they were meant to be driven, not like the majority of owners that putter them from one country club to another. This is for the 944Kid... there is a Porsche dealer over in Shelburne Vermont, so we see our fair share of Stuttgart variants on this side of the lake... and what kills me, utterly fucking slays me is the way these cars are driven by white-haired grampa types... they bought it because it was a Porsche, a status sympbol, not because they are one of the finest racing cars that money can buy... and they drive it like a fucking minivan. And the ones that come home with the lower echelon Boxster, I am merciless with...

| | | First off, I'm one of those guys who also likes the Porsche 914 and the 928 I love the way it looks, those rear haunches just look so agressive... it sounds absolutely gorgeous, like most Porsches. Handling is just about perfect, the car has awesome weight distribution because of the mid engined layout. And it's pretty unrefined and raw to drive given that it's a modern car. Now, it's never gonna beat an early 911. There's something about those cars that I'm infatuated with... the snarl of the 6 throats of the Webers, the way you NEED to know how and when to shift, or you're gonna blow the tranny to bits, the tranny that has the shift quality of a broomstick in a bucket of coal. They're such a demanding, mechanical car and you need to know how to drive them. And when you do, god DAMN it's a rewarding experience! Ok, I'm spent.
