I understand why people would like to call people out on a forum and have a bunch of people jump down their throats, but I like that you aren't really allowed to swarm a person on uer. I am not saying that people shouldn't be allowed to disagree or even battle, I just don't like the idea of this turning into a place that randomly targets people.

For example, I use to love the fights between Mongoose and Cringe. They would randomly pop up in threads and were terribly amusing and harmless. In my opinion this was playful and fun. There may have been actual hate on either side, but it wasn't overwhelming the threads where they occurred. Meanwhile, a whole thread on Mongoose or Cringe could be very hurtful. I know, I know, this is the internet and we aren't supposed to give a shit about people's feelings, but I still do.

In summation, people, people, don't be ghosts.

Nevermind, if I am understanding her right it was a forum here that got a bad rap from people who were not members. Intentions were good but taken the wrong way.

I am not a fan of the threatening either. I saw that flickr thing. The link was sent to me. It was making a point in a playful way. I think the retaliation, if there is to be one should not be violent, but intellectual.

I guess part of the reason I created this thread was that the sudden rage was getting to me. I miss the old days of the saucy back and forth word play. Oh well.

I assure you I found nothing playful about it when I had to see it crossposted on facebook and e-mailed to most of my friends. I'm making no retaliation though, as it was dropped and I haven't seen anything since. I still think that regardless of the views I had in the past, nothing I did warranted what happened to me (and what is still being shoved in my face on this forum).
