Not only are they everywhere, but they're breeding at an alarming rate! They must be stopped, and I'll gladly join you two in a quest to rid the planet of as many idiots as possible!

I was thinking about how people seem to read the Bible a whole lot more as they get older; then it dawned on me - they're cramming for their final exam...

It's the way the world is going, I guess.
The smart people aren't breeding, it's the idiots that continue the species. How long before people with IQ's above 80 are extinct?
Look at your high school class...remember the jocks and cheerleaders, most of them are now living the lives of the stupid, with 10 kids in a trailer and their kids will breed just like their parents. I can hear the average IQ in the country dropping as we speak.
Poster children for birth control right there. You get the occasional fluke, but for the most part, look at the local trailer park or low rent district.
It's funny, most people I graduated with don't remember me, or when I see some of them...it's the "Oh my god, you haven't changed a bit!" thing. Which translates to..."Why haven't you gotten married and why don't you have 5 kids like everybody else?" I was neither a jock or a cheerleader, I was the nerd that sat in the back of the class. Hence my reasoning.

Some of us are fighting back.....

I'm a breeder and an achiever, same with my wife. We teach our kids as much about the world as possible. The oldest is only 3 and has seen so many things already. She is well mannered, well spoken, begining to read, and is very independent. We have the same problem with the 'popular' people from high school, they go on to do nothing, breed like rabbits, and still feel it is okay to harass me 12 years later. Stupid people, stupid kids, stupid lives. Funny thing is, my oldest daughter is 3, most of their kids are 10 - 12 years old... that seems interesting.

Yes, I agree that general stupidity is fast becoming a way of life. The amount of welfare 'lifers' around here is staggering, and they're breeding at a phenomenal rate. My favourites are the ones who space their kids out every four years or so,because one is supposed to get a job once the child starts school, hence popping out another without a second thought.

It's not restricted to those areas. All you have to do is turn on your TV. The media constantly bombards us with morons. Unfortunately, these morons have a great deal of influence on our children. A few examples:

Brittany Spears & Kevin Federline
Miley Cyrus
Jamie Lynn Spears
Christina Aguilera
Jennifer Lopez
Shia LaBeouf
Tommy Lee
P Diddy (or Puff Daddy, or whatever)
Pick a pro athlete
John Edwards
Mark Foley
Bill Clinton
George Bush
Rev. Jesse Jackson
Rev. Al Sharpton
Rush Limbaugh
Bill O’Reilly
Jerry Falwell
Pat Robertson

Etc, etc, etc

We are seriously outnumbered folks.

The worst part about it is once an asshole, always an asshole.

Over the weekend, something huge broke on the line I'm assigned to at work. I ran into someone that I hadn't seen in years, I knew he worked for the company, but he's in a management role because, you guessed it, grandpa was a manager, dad was a manager, now he's a manager.

Anyway, I got the run around. I know what to do to fix my own equipment, I've worked on it for 3 years, I know the ins and outs, I know what works and what doesn't and I can get it through a shift even when something's out of whack, unless it's something serious, like this was. Anyway, you learn. You spend 3 years of your life, day in, day out, you learn. If something breaks and I can't fix it, I call a mechanic or an electrician and usually, I'm right or the line operator's right and we get a pat on the back from them and they fix it for us and it's all good.

This manager walked up to me, asked me what was wrong, I told him, I lifted a safety hatch in the floor, along with the line operator and told him that a big chain drive bearing had bounced loose off of an I beam scaffold built beneath the floor to support it. It needed welding, big deal, an hour or two and it'd be fixed, that's all. He listened, then proceeded to tell me I wasn't an engineer, I wasn't a mechanic and I wasn't qualified to make any form of judgment on what my line needed to be repaired. Also I was told to just continue using the equipment until it broke or Monday morning rolled around.

Worst part is this guy is one I went to high school with. What really gets me, he was one of the jerkoffs that tried to cheat off me on exams. I outscored him on every exam I ever took, all he has on me is parents who paid for his college so he could get a BS in some kind of management.

The thing that drives me crazy is that corporate is more likely to listen to me than to him about anything. If I had called corporate that day and told them what was going on, something probably would have been done immediately, but getting a hold of corporate on Sunday is impossible, any other day of the week, and they'd have been on it in 30 seconds or less. On site management doesn't listen to the employees, corporate listens and a lot of the things I said when I was in Memphis for training to folks at corporate have gotten done, many of them got done BEFORE I got back. All of them were done by the time I got back to work the Wednesday after I got back to NY.

Anyway, the real funny part of this story...he got an ass kicking on Monday. I heard all about it from my line operator who got it from the department manager, and we both got an apology this morning.

Next time he pulls this crap, ask him this - "If you already knew the answer, then why did you ask me the question?"

It will probably take him all day to figure that one out.

The good thing, the only time this asshole ever comes into the department I work in is when he's on weekend duty. The only reason he was on weekend duty is that the person that normally does it when I'm on day shift was unable to do it, so she traded with him.

Next time, I'm just gonna walk away, do what I have to do to get the damn thing fixed and call my own manager. Because if I open up on him, I will lose my job.
