When people touch my computer...

and I end up having to reinstall windows and lose 18 months of photos, songs, and files, IT PISSES ME OFF.

My grandmother turned off my computer the other day after I fell asleep, and when I went to turn it on after I woke up, it wouldn't boot. Not even F8 to safe mode would work...

I lost pictures I can't get back now, songs I won't be able to remember to download again, and a few very important word files I hadn't backed up yet (it WAS an every couple months thing... NOT ANYMORE.)

I'm still reeling, just because this bitch wants to save power. GTFO with your 2 cents a day.

That woman is never touching this shit again.

PISSED OFF STILL.

I have the exact same problem right now. Although I have not lost anything as of yet. I have my girlfriend and a couple of roommates, and to top it it off my brother uses it as well.

I honestly hate it when people use my computer. I never had an antivirus on my computer, because I never needed it and ever since people have been using my computer I have had three viruses along with many many programs on it that I never installed and no one will admit to installing.

I came home the other day and I had fucking itunes on my computer, now I do not have an ipod only my brother and one of my roommate does. They did try to hide it by deleting it off of my desktop and from the program files listed in the start bar. What they did not do was uninstall it from the control panel and stop it from starting up when I reboot. I have warned them and asked everyone to stop this but it does no good.

I have a nice 26 character password on my computer (its a phrase) and the other day while sleeping my girlfriend asked me my password. I have told her to never do this yet she did. So now I had to change it because people can not wait to use my computer while I am around. Fucking right it pisses me off.

I think we can assume she does based on, "I'm still reeling, just because this bitch wants to save power. GTFO with your 2 cents a day."

Grandma could be trying to save like they did back in the 80's for his mother. I get what you are saying, but when I had first read it I had thought that grandma lived with him and his parents. I automatically thought this because this was how my friend lived when I was younger.

I have a second hard drive that is a lot bigger then my normal harddrive that I am constantly backing up everything of mine on. When I download music or movies I use them on my regular harddive then if they up to my standards I transfer them to my other harddrive. I also have my irreplacable files stored on dvd.

I had itunes appear on my computer with Safari. Apple Quicktime automatically updates/installs it when you let it's stupid auto-update thing go. Most likely someone was on your computer when it asked to install those things, and they blindly "ok'd" through it all. I fucking hate when people just blindly OK through everything.

Buy one of those key log plug in for the back of the computer to figure out who it is. Muahhaa

Edit- My mom if she comes near my computer it goes all laggy and breaks...No joke if she comes in here and uses it then it goes to limited connectivity and won't recognize the printer. I think its because she yells and bangs on the desk as computers frustrate her and she hurts the computer feelings.

I think that computers really do know who you are. My husband and a very good friend of mine have the same problem. They sit down and it refuses to do a thing for them.

A mirage is not an optical illusion. It is a real phenomenon, and one can take photographs of it. The interpretation of the image, however, is up to the fantasy of the human mind.

The other day I went to upload some pictures from my cheapass Kodak camera, using the cheap ass,yet simple program thingy that it came with. Lo and behold,my boyfriend had removed the entire thing, saying that it was taking too much room on the computer. Which is getting wiped out in about a month anyway, because the computer is going to my daughter when we move.

I admit that I don't know a lot about computers, but I know even less about photography,so I was mucho pissed about losing that dummy proof program. Meh. Mind you,it was replaced with something much 'better',meaning that it'll take me eons to figure out the new one.

Speaking of things that only work for certain people,I had put somewhat of a protection spell on my car when I bought it. After that,it would NOT run for more than a block or so away when my boyfriend,or anyone else drove it but I had no problems whatsoever for over a year. I often wonder if it's behaving for the guy who bought it,though I know it broke down on his way home. ;)

I've gone through some shit, you can search this. I've gone through my grace period when I did nothing but go online all day long to seclude myself and protect myself. Basically, I felt if I didn't have my computer, I wasn't living. If this has happened a month ago, you would eventually find out about one of the most stupid suicide attempts ever. (Save for the kid who 'caught the bus' after his mom took his video games away, that takes the cake.)

Now I'm almost certain I have a job, and I will gladly contribute more... but still. I turn off lights, I dont keep the TV on and my computer on at the same time when my grandmother leaves the living room... I am in all ways energy efficient, but computers do not need to be turned off every night, and it won't break the bank to leave it running, especially if it will keep it alive!

Things are assinine around here, sorry.

I think I'll be investing in more CDs/DVDs.
