Ok so we all get that little message at the top of the screen asking for our opinions etc on someone waiting for full membership. So the one time I recognize a name, and look at what they have contributed here, I think, ok this one I will answer other than checking that "I have no opinion box" and I get this:

Sorry, you can't recommend this person. Their request is already under review by a moderator.

Im sorry but his name keeps showing up along with that "queef" person.
If they are already under review why is it still showing up?

grrrrrrrrrr.

I had that happen consistently after a while, too. I did notify a moderator of the issue, but in the end, I just opted out of the FM process

That does suck, but it's only happened to me rarely. I get more pissed about the ones with the following stats:

5 posts - Been here 0 Months
0 posts - Been here 0 Months
3 posts - Been here 3 years

I've been told by the mod team that submitting a strike with "NEED MORE" as the only reason wasn't really effective for them. (c'mon, you know you love it )

I would love to see along with the existing Recommend and No Opinion options, keeping the Place Strike option with a comment as it is, but also having a pre-canned "Place Strike because the applicant hasn't been here long enough/participated enough" option.

It was actually reading seven or eight strikes from you that simply read "NEED MOAR" that made me send you a message. I hate that fucking illiterate /b/tard bullshit.

Isn't there a way to disable the prompts for full member recommendations/strikes? Or, is there a way to ignore it?

Oh it can, but I like to participate. I'm just here complaining in the Pissed Off forum. Not at you or anything, just the system.

Just trying to say that when in my opinion 80% of the full member applications are BS applications, it would be nice if there was a way to streamline those BS applications right into the garbage can - both for convenience to the mods and the voters.

Yeah, let's totally put in a level system for APPLYING for full membership. They can apply for permission to apply.

On any given week, there are between five and twenty five people who've applied for full membership. Right now, there are nine. It's honestly not a big enough deal to have to worry about it.

I really don't expect full membership till I earn it. When I explore I usually do not take pictures as I do not have decent equipment. I more look into the history and offer "hints" about locations. For example, the gold mine is a wealth of info.

Couldn't there be a limit on the amount of times someone is voted on till its denied for a certain x amount of time? Say your denied and then you have to wait for a month till you can run again for example? Or is there already something set like this.

Well, it isn't really that you guys are "voting" on anyone, just giving us input. And we take ALL input - good or bad - into consideration. Since there is no limit to the number of times you can give us your opinion on a person, people might abuse that system if they dislike someone.

Besides, there aren't usually too many FM apps at one time, so there is enough manpower among the moderators to look at each one individually.

If you're really annoyed by the FM app things at the top of your page .... just turn them off. Not really too hard.

If there is anyone that you'd still like to recommend for FM status, simply go to that person's profile and hit the button "recommend this user for FM status." Simple.

Edit: Also, on the time thing. People are technically able to reapply a few weeks after their denial, according to the denial message. However, if it is someone that I feel needs a month or two, I'll tell them they can reapply after a certain date in the denial message, myself.

I don't know if posting a ability to degrade a member applying for membership is a good idea haha... Unless there is IP logs

The only time I ran into frustrations with the FM status is trying to find information on sites for historical papers for school and was denied access.
