You are young. That is my point.

Young has nothing to do with it. Look at Nan. I only hope I'm half that cool when I'm her age. Considering I am not half that cool now, I doubt I will be then. : D lol

And Nan and I already agreed that we have different lifestyles because of the different cities we live in. I honestly have no idea what your point is.

actually you accused her of living the high life, and she corrected you.

I know people in their 20s who are afraid of a lot of things, and I know people who are over 40 who have more guts than I do. My point is that it isn't age or how small your apartment is.

I guess, in that case, I stand corrected again. You certainly are far more in the know than I could ever be.

for all that I know, I still can't feel alive unless I am closer to death. So I put myself in dangerous situation just to know what life feels like.

We all have flaws. Mine will kill me. So perhaps you win.

But you should still come out and meet me for coffee sometime.

This has turned from crochity and fearful to arrogant and bitchy.

Boring.

PS- May I, for a fully fleshed out angsty "I like to put myself in dangerous situations" worldview recommend you have sex with vagrants and strangers, sans protection. Guaranteed to put yourself in a dangerous situation! Or is that not glamorous enough to boast about on the internet to people to make you sound interesting?

Posted by argonian I had a large male friend who could not pee in my toilet, there wasn't enough room for him to stand between the toilet and the wall.

He's lying to you. Men can always figure out a way to piss somewhere.

Hello, Montreal!
I also fear the French

To add on to what Hydro was saying, being robbed, having your bike totalled (when you jumped off seconds before), hearing a man being murdered, etc. don't make me feel more alive. They make me feel sad, depressed and in some cases wonder how I am going to come up with the money to replace what I have lost.

The guy was 6"6 and 350ish (it was as far as his scale went). He couldn't see the toilet due to his belly and he couldn't sit and pee due to his legs. I am sure he could go in my tub or sink, but the toilet wasn't so easy.

Ok, whoa. Time out. Simmer down.

In our efforts to help those that we care about, we may say things that are interpreted as criticism, even though that was not our intent.

That being said, Argo, you have every right to feel the way you do. You have experienced an extremely traumatising event (being mugged). Because of this, you are more sensitive to the events that occur around you. This is normal and perfectly justifiable.

Age brings a different perspective and wisdom. Your perspective changes to focus on what is and what is not truly important. Your wisdom is the knowledge you have gained through experience. You know what certain events point towards and what the inevitable outcome will be. You have seen it before.

Stay strong, my dear. You will find your direction out of this mess. Things will be great again. It may take some hard decisions, and some hard work, but you can do it. I believe in you.

You are quite sensitive for a man with the body of a young Burt Reynolds. For the record, I wasn't mugged. My apartment was broken into.

Oh. When you said robbed I thought....Well anyway. It is still a traumatizing experience.

I wish I actually had the body of a young Burt Reynolds
