i have taken my 9 year old daughter UEing with me a few times and to a few different "easy/safer" locations in ontario. She was totally into it and is really psyched to go to another location, now that i bought her - her own digital camera! of course there are some locations i'd never take her to due to some of the dangers and safety concerns.
anyone elts brough their lil ones along exploring with them?

They say "you can't judge a book by its cover!" I say "YES you can, if the cover has a girl on it with a cock in her mouth, its PORN!" if she's 18 and the cock is black, its GREAT porn!

Last year, (when my daughter was 2) we bought her first digital camera, from fisher price.

If she wants to explore later, I have no problems with it, but so far there hasn't been any 'safe' enough locations that I could take her to yet.

i had bought that camera for my daughter when it first came out. i wasn't really all that impressed with it, at least for her at the age of 7. (don't get me wrong it is a good camera for the little ones)
i ended up buying her one of the new "pink" olympus cameras that is waterproof and shock restant.

Neat! Yeah, it's perfect for her age because she still drops things and she is clumsy as heck. And, I can have it for when my youngest gets a little older

Whilst I don't have a problem with others taking their kids exploring, I wouldn't myself, mostly as I have no problem with risking my own well being, I don't like risking others. I also don't as there are few "Safe" locations here (mostly they are drains) I know my little lad has done a bit (he is 11) as he told me about him and his friends riding their push bikes through a drain that runs under their school. I wouldn't recommend actually doing it, I'm not sure of the laws where you are, but here if your caught with a child in a drain or abandoned building, you can be prosecuted for reckless endangerment (not a good thing to have on your record), possibly even be deemed as unfit parent and have your kids removed from you. However I know i used to play in the local storm drains and disused factories (I live in a former large industrial city, lots of disused industry back then) so I don't have a problem with them doing it, just make sure they know the dangers and what to look for.

Nice kiddie camera Squidgit, have to get me one too

I have been taking my kiddo out on silo explorations. Usually during the midday so he does not feel frightened. We mostly explore sites for historical context, but the kiddo did enjoy 'ghost farming' when we lived in texas.

My little one was in an Atlas F a week before her 3rd birthday. But by then she had already been rapelling in the basement and popping manholes with the boys when the birds are chirping. She also has been around the shop forever. This year she went treking through the desert looking for the crashed CIA plane of Walter Ray and been in a few mines, and skateboarding with Max Action. She's a crazy bitch, but smart enough to pull it off. I still don't take her anywhere I don't feel comfortable, but people often fail to give kids enough credit. If you guide them, they will learn.

Jonsered takes our son Chris all over the place, and has since he was 9. He has been to ghost towns, abandoned rail facilities, old forts and several mines. I was worried for a bit, but I know my husband would never put Chris in a bad spot. Its always a good laugh when his friends start to tell him about their new video game, and Chris responds with "Yeah? Well I walked all the way through a mountain underground this weekend."
