Purdue Pharma, the manufacturer of OxyContin, and three executives of the company (including the president) pled guilty to lying about how addictive OxyContin is and paid a fine of $680 million.

I feel ya, Sam. A family member of mine is so strung out on crack, meth, coke, anything he can get his hands on, he does. He stole everything from my grandma, even her social security checks, then when she passed away and the house was left to me he was so mad he didn't get it to sell for drug $ he burned it to the ground. Selfish fucking bastard. Drugs really do wreck people & lives. Sad sad sad.

Edit: The point wasn't that I wanted the house or the $ value of it . As you can tell, that would be minimal, it was the principle it was burned down out of spite. That's what really pissed me off.

I was going through old threads for the hell of it and wanted to comment on this one last time... my friend and his brother just did 5+ years for drug charges and have now been released and are undergoing 6 months of post-release at a halfway house in New Hampshire. I talked to him the other day and he seems so much like his old self and I could tell he was still embarrassed over what had happened. I just hope he stays clean.
