I'm so pissed that Google fucked with something that worked just fine only to ruin it.

To know what I even talking about, you must:
1) Use the iGoogle personal homepage
2) Use the US version of Google.

So far I haven't found one person that actually likes the changes.

Well it looks like Google scrambled after the 1-2 days of the initial release. it's no longer showing 1-2 sentences of each article automatically, you now have the plus sign back to expand it if you want to.

The bar on the left of the screen is still there though and that's a tad annoying. Yah, lots of people freaked out Google' own forums and started emailing the engineers about how pissed they were. Especially when Google received the same feedback during the beta of this but decided to push it out anyway.

Glad to see some of it's back to normal.

Trent -
Oh my god. You're probably one of the most well-informed-internet-dwellers I've ever come into contact with. That's great, but I have to ask: When is the last time you went outside??

Hah, thanks Peels.

As for when I last when outside, well you just happened to catch me at a good time where I spent 9 hours between exploring two different powerplants yesterday. But now I'll probably hide out inside for awhile.

Hah, I gotta admit that the thought has crossed my mind. But I don't have a data plan on my phone...

You know, I was going to say much the same thing, though without the excellent visual prop, until I realised that nobody actually cared about the original thread

I didn't know anybody used iGoogle, I thought it was just a gimmick. My homepage is just my fast dial squares (firefox extension)

That's much the same as the default start page on Chrome (or Opera, for that matter). I used iGoogle before that, however.

Hey, who re-railed this thread?

i just started using this igoogle thing. i feel kind of awkward with it. i dunno. but ive been using gmail forever, and i ushered myself into the world of rss readers a month or so ago after just using firefox to manage them, and now i signed up for google calendar, whatever snazzy name they have for it....and i thought this would be a lovely way to anchor everything. but so far i just feel my brain explode every time i go to my igoogle page. theres too many important boxes screaming at me all at once.

can we make a uer app for igoogle (kidding)

In the week or so I tried iGoogle, the only box I ever paid attention to was that damn helicopter game. It was always screaming PLAY ME so I would, and I had to stop using iGoogle. It had very little functionality outside of addicting helicopter homepage

im only finding it semi useful so far. like everything i have on my igoogle page only has limited functionality, which i guess is really all you can expect, but i dunno. its like id rather just open up each stupid page on its own page and be able to do and read everything instead of having each thing crammed into a 2 inch square and a jumble of text minus a bunch of features so that i have to open the silly thing in a seperate window anyway....
