speaking of expensive cats:
this guy brought his Savannah wildcat in because it broke its back... these things can cost between $2500-4000 depending on where you get them...
Here's a general pic of what a Savannah wildcat looks like:

I didn't find out exactly how the wild cat "broke its back", or more specifically, severed its spine.
Anyways, the man was advised to euthanize but he turned it down saying that there had to be some way to repair the spine (which there is not).

People should not be able to own wild cats as pets. Aren't there bylaws about this shit?

http://en.wikipedi...%29#Ownership_laws

Technically it's a hybrid not a true wildcat. There are laws against keeping wild animals as pets but depending on the state you can get a permit if you are willing to pay for it that is.

A Savannah would be a kickass pet but I would never pay that kind of money for one.

My cats mother "Socks" was a feral stray but we're pretty sure she at least looked 100% domestic cat. Their father "Ghost" was a feral stray but he was like 1/2 bobcat so teeccchnically my cats are hybrids.

I believe it goes by the municipality. If I remember correctly, Toronto is supposed to have one.

And people should not be able to own any wild animals as pets. Especially if they don't have the proper experience and environment for them.

Gone for a while. Be back when I'm back.

I've already decided that if I ever buy a purebred cat, it's gonna be a Scottish Fold....they're SUPER adorable and full of personality.

You mean one like this?

Sorry for raising this thread from the dead, but Scottish Folds are awesome and deserve it.
