Well, after yesterday, I am never buying anything from them again.

I put an order in back in September for something that came out at midnight last night. Well, they send an authorization through to your credit card on a preorder about a week or so before. No big deal.

Well, they sent the authorization through, then told me that the shipping address on the account had to match the billing address in an email on Monday, so I said fine, and called them to get it changed. Again, no big deal.

Last night, they send another authorization through, which subsequently gets declined and they send me a notice, after telling me the day before that with the authorization they sent through last week, that they would be shipping the item today.

Basically...they billed my card twice like the assholes they are and I just got so sick of it that I canceled the order. I have been going round and round with their customer service since Monday, only to have them make a bigger mess than it was before I tried to fix it.

Now, I've asked them to send a fax to my bank, telling them that they can cancel the authorization...if they do it, great, if not, then I wait till next week for them to return my 100 dollars and by then, I'll be lucky to get a copy of the game anywhere.

I will never, ever, ever buy anything ever again from Gamestop, not after this fiasco. Not like they care, but I need to rant because I've been going round and round with them since Monday morning, when I first thought the thing was fixed.

Apparently they don't like repeat customers and one person won't make a hell of a lot of difference to them. I've bought a lot from them over the years and I guess they don't seem to appreciate that fact.

They're always retarded with their pre-ordering. It's like their business model is somehow built around getting people to pre-order games instead of people just going and buying them when they come out.

I could see maybe hardcore gamers not minding the pre-order process knowing they can get they copy locked up just in case the game sells out. But for a casual gamer who just happens to want to grab a popular game when it comes out every now and then it's just lame.

Whats the point of even having a brick and mortar retail store. They should just switch to online pre-ordering anyway since that's all they really do for anything new coming out.

Play them like a lottery, you might eventually win. I ordered 3 games from them about 9 years ago, and got all 3 I ordered, and then got all 3 again in another box, and then got 2 of them again in another box, and I was only ever charged for the 3.

They were all new games, and I sold the extras on e-bay for about $40 each.

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, Collector's Edition.

In order to even think about getting one, I had to place the order back in September. I didn't have a problem the last preorder I did with them.

Still no word from them on releasing it. They probably won't because I was miserable on the phone to them last night. I emailed at 8am EST. You have about 48 hours or so after it comes out, usually. If you don't get a copy ordered or in your hands by then, like the Burning Crusade one, you won't get either format, Collector's or plain for another two to three weeks. So, I can kiss that goodbye till at least Christmas unless they release the money tomorrow, which I doubt they will.

Though it sucks that you got dicked around, it is only a video game.

I used to be in customer service, I know what a CS rep can and can't do. You can call a supervisor and fix things that need to be fixed in the computer system with authorization. The people I spoke to refused to call a supervisor when I specifically asked for one, treated me like shit on the phone and basically gave me the runaround when I actually did what they asked.

I don't care about the item, that's not the issue, the issue is being treated like dirt when you're spending good money and you've been a good customer for the past 5 or 6 years.
