I've done maybe 20 places around here and only one gave me a legitimately haunted feeling. I've lived in many places that had ghosts and so I feel I'm fairly receptive to that kind of energy, and I do believe in the supernatural. I just don't usually run into that sort of thing when I'm exploring. Except for this place.

It was a huge abandoned farm with a grand main house. I felt very much like I was being watched, more so in some rooms than others. Whatever it was, it felt like it didn't like me being there, that it was annoyed with me. As I went upstairs, I found that all the rooms were connected like a maze, instead of the standard hallways with rooms branching off that you find in most houses. There were three different staircases and I kept getting turned around not knowing where I was. It became more and more unsettling until I wound up running frantically from one room to the next trying to find a way out. When I finally found a set of stairs I quickly went down to the first floor and outside, where I felt relieved and much less frantic.

I worked my way around the back of the house, taking photos, and saw a dark shape scurry behind a shed. It was about the size and shape of a person hunched over walking quickly. I walked over there but saw nothing. I continued on exploring the rest of the farm with no further incident, until 2 hours later as I was finishing up and preparing to walk off the property. I was back by the main house again and heard - very distinctly - the sound of windchimes tinkling in the wind. I stood stock still, thinking maybe it was my keys echoing off the buildings. The sound continued even as I stood there. I had explored every inch of the property and there was nothing that could've made that sound. I left in somewhat of a hurry after that.

That night I couldn't shake the unsettling feelings I experienced in the house. I had a hard time falling asleep. When I finally did, I dreamed that I was standing in the house again, taking photos, and a young girl of maybe 8 or 10 kept running down the staircase, stopping halfway, and telling me, "Go away!" I would brush her off and continue taking photos, and she kept running back down and telling me to go away. Finally, after several repeats of this, she came all the way down the stairs, stood in front of me, and said, "No, really, you need to leave now." I woke up and couldn't fall back asleep after that.

I haven't done any research on the property yet. I'm dying to know if there is any truth to the strange things I experienced, yet at the same time, I feel like I should leave well enough alone. Maybe someday I'll work up the courage to make some phone calls and see if I can track down whoever lived there when it was abandoned.

i went to a nursing home around here with my best friend. we had 2 blunts and some captain morgan and a blankie and a flashlight that died as soon as we entered. when we got to the main entrance we looked down the hallway of darkness and tim asked me if i wanted to make a run for it down the hallway. we never been in this place before so i said no cause i didnt want to fall. decided to wait for the sun to come up or drink for guts. so, we laid down the blanket and started drinking til we got some guts. pitch darkness. i shall post pictures next time i'm at a computer. we heard a couple of bangs and i said "something or someone or an animal is fucking with us"... as SOON as i said animal we heard this faint growl beside of us. chill bumps. i wanna go back soon.

Two of my friends and I went to an abandoned farmstead that's supposed to be "horribly haunted" according to locals. It's known to be one of the most haunted places in the Midwest, but I don't know what's happened for it to earn that name.

When my friends and I were there we explored the first floor. The girls wondered where the stairs to the second floor were and I noticed a door that was jammed shut. I was able to get it open and found a narrow flight of stairs. While my friends weren't willing to go up I was more than happy to. At the top of the stairs I saw that the floor looked pretty weak, so I stayed on the stairs and looked around. Seconds later I heard a loud rattling from the room across from me followed by several bangs. For a moment I thought it was coming from the first floor, so I called down to my friend that I could see to see where my other friend was, hoping that the sounds were from her. My friend answered my fears by telling me my friend was right behind her, which I knelt down and could see. Seconds later footsteps ran out of the bedroom across from me, past me and into a room at the far end of the house where the rattling continued, but no one was there and there's no way someone could have passed me without being seen. I tried to see if anyone was there, but the house was empty. We also heard strange sounds down in the root cellar.

A lot of the places I've been to are rumored to be haunted. I shamelessly admit sometimes I go more to check out the ghosts than the ruins, lol.

The eeriest experience I had was in an abandoned mental hospital in Illinois. I know there's always hype about this sort of place in particular being haunted, but I really think it had some truth to it. There are tunnels that run under the buildings that they used to use to transport both patients and bodies, and I was with two other people at the time. We were approaching the main entrance to the tunnels, when we heard footsteps coming towards us from inside. Figuring it was some homeless dude brave enough to shelter there, we stood and waited...and when the footsteps were right at the entrance they just stopped. Nothing was there.

While we were trying to wrap our heads around this, this...dark shadow...just FLEW from out of the tunnel in front of us and past us down the hall. It just moved so fast, if my two friends hadn't seen it, I'd think it was a trick of my eyes.

Still haven't been able to explain it, and have yet to have something similar happen.

Pretty much how I feel about ghosts too. I love ghost stories, and it would be cool if they were real but I've never experienced the slightest thing that couldn't easily be explained through basic physics.

This may not look like much, but once upon a time there was a certain multi millionaire who owned a certain 20+ story high rise that he named after himself and kept the top two floors of as his own business office and private residence. This is the lower of the two where I believe his personal secretary used to sit. Anyway, I've been through every floor in great detail numerous times by myself and while some of the lower floors look creepier, the top two floors feel creepy.

My first few visits I was exploring alone and a couple of times up there the temperature of the room would suddenly drop. The windows weren't broken, I checked. And both of those times I felt like I was being poked in the back and the arm with a finger, only nobody was there but me. One time in particular I got the definite feeling that I was not welcome and when I didnt leave I was poked again and felt a hot breath on the back of my neck. I left after that.

The last time I was up there I had a friend with me and I didn't tell him anything about my previous experiences cause I didn't want to influence him at all and a minute after entering this floor he said, "It just got cold, do you feel that?" And then later he said, "Did you just poke me?" There's definitely something going on up there.
