	un chien andalou I find myself shocked that people don't seem to be interested in silent films, or at least the one's that I have posted. Un Chien Andalou, was Salvidor Dali and Luis Buñuel's attempt to put a bunch of dreams that they have had to film. This is a concept that I find very interesting, because dreams are cut ups of our thoughts, memories, and all the other baggage that we carry around with us. And in that they are so personal, it seems to me that they hit upon a sort of group perspective in a very subtle way. There is another film that tries to put a dreams to film and it is called just that "Dreams" by Akira Kurosawa. At this point, I have yet to see it. So I can't comment. Then There is David Lynch who films are not concerned with plot but with image. As I heard in an interview, what he does is put together images in his mind then makes the plot fit around these images. To me that is the closest to a living dream as you an get. Discuss.

	In a paper I wrote for a film class, I referred to the found severed ear in *Blue Velvet* as a sort of Buñuelian eye. Also, dream-like would probably be the kindest way to describe Charlie Kaufman's *Synecdoche, New York*
